Legato delivers a musical world, flush with intense, soulful vocals, catchy hooks, and hip-hop rhythms. Legato’s innovative sound fuses meticulously arranged instrumentation by Producer Roland Apikelis, former dancer for PRINCE, with the savvy, soulful freestyle lyrics of San Francisco vocalist Genevieve Goings of Playhouse Disney's Choo Choo Soul, who has performed on the same stage as P. DIDDY and LES NUBIANS. For the past two years, Legato has performed at clubs all over the San Francisco Bay Area, such as Harry Denton’s Starlight Room and the legendary Elbo Room, as well as sharing the 2004 San Francisco Gay Pride Main Stage with Chaka Khan. Expanding their territory, they will be touring colleges throughout the West coast in 2005.Legato’s self-titled debut album, released in February 2004 to a standing room-only Plush Room, is an inspired blend of old school, smooth soul coupled with an utterly modern R&B/neo-soul sound that is infectious and undeniably its own. Songs such as "Boo-Bop" and “Leave” have received recognition from industry experts for their bold, emotionally honest lyrics and smooth harmonies. Genevieve displays a vocal maturity far beyond her years and her self-penned lyrics tell the story of a young woman who truly understands love, relationships, music, and the power of her womanhood. “From the first word out of her mouth, you know this 24-year-old has the power to pull you into her world and amaze you with courage and honesty. There is a mysterious intrigue about her that leaves you breathless and hungry for more.” (David Mack, President, EMSI). Genevieve is now working with Disney on a children's television insterstitial entitled " Choo Choo Soul" - music for kids that won't drive parents crazy! | | Sally Elwin Crazy For You CD (2006)
Legato CD music
$18.99 SALLY AT LARGE Life is a journey full of blind corners and narrow streets even bridges and precipices. Sally Elwin has sailed on a starship called Fantasy captained by her virtuoso husband Randolph. There is a guiding light that has taken their original music beyond the shores of St. Lucia given the production of two fantastic CDs inside of three years. The first 2004 release a five track CD entitled ‘Sally’ and the ten track 2006 CD release Crazy for You. In 1995 I first met the endearing couple when they were auditioning for the job of Resident Band at the Rendezvous Hotel at Choc Bay. I was the Entertainment Manager then and they impressed us, so they got the job. In the late 70’s I had known KK from his Hibiscus days. He had an exciting stage presence and knew his instrument, both technically and theoretically. Somehow now there was the added dimension of Sally’s gift of song. It was only a matter of time before the accolades would come. Fantasy the band they put together were the Resident Band during my five years at Rendezvous. They were simply the best. The repertoire was well researched and presented. The sound was clean and the band members disciplined to perfection. KK had been on the cruise ships and indicated that he could best use his talents on shore rather than on the sea. He established a studio and recorded some of island’s top Calypsonians. When it came to knowing what was right for Sally to record there was a winning formula. From the shy reclusive singer I had seen at that audition Sally Elwin had blossomed into a dynamic, effervescent confident front line performer.Rendezvous served as a testing nurturing ground for Sally. There she was able to perform to audiences of different cultural backgrounds. Yet Sally and KK were able to satiate and entertain their guests musically, given that many of them have returned to listen to their music time and time again. In terms of recognition in the public domain, there was the Belgrave Award for Best producer in 1992, best Christmas Song in Radio St. Lucia’s Christmas Song contest 1996, best music group in the St. Lucia Hotel Tourism Association’s St. Lisi Par Excellence Awards of 2001. In 1999 Sally entered the Caribbean Song festival in Cuba and placed 1st runner up. In 2004 Sally Elwin became a household ...

Legato music CDs
$11.39 The Neville Lloyd Story Neville was first introduced to music during his childhood as a member of his family's church in Falmouth, Jamaica. While most of his family gravitated toward the keyboard and organ, he decided to learn something different, and built his first guitar which he later used to teach himself how to play. "I taught myself guitar because everyone else played the keyboard and the church organ. I was from a different generation (than my older relatives), and wanted to get into rock music."Neville Started with the acoustic guitar, worked his way to bass guitar, and eventually keyboards. By the time he was 15, the musical prodigy was garnering praise from the 1960's Jamaican music scene, and began playing with various musicians, including Dan Drummonds and the Scatellites, Tuts and the Maytails and Byron Lee and the Dragoneers (as a vocalist), Ellis, The Techniques, and another rising local Talent, Bob Marley and the Wailers.Neville is best remembered as a member of the Jamaican music scene of the 1960's, which produced artists like Bob Marley, Jackie Edwards, Bob Andy, John Holt, Desmond Dekker, Alton Ellis and Ernie Smith. Neville first garnered attention as the lead guitarist in a popular Jamaican North coast band. He has performed in the North Coast's most popular clubs, including the Sombrero and the Glass Bucket, and at the University of the West Indies. The band ...
