Vices album for sale Product Description
Vices album for sale by Dead Poetic was released Oct 31, 2006 on the Tooth & Nail label. The low-slung wallop of Dead Poetic's third album will have critics retiring the "screamo" epithet vis-a-vis this band, and may even inspire younger fans to download some Dream Theater or Sepultura. Maintaining the intensity of their previous releases, VICES is also melodic, layered, and steeped in both nu- and old-school-metal sensibilities. Songs like "Animals," which pitches a cavernous, heavily reverbed guitar riff against Brandon Rike's hushed voice, and "Self Destruct & Die," with a hook-y vocal and chiming guitars, display a real effort towards musical growth and variety. Vices CD music contains a single disc with 14 songs. ...See Full Description

it is a letdown. Dead poetic aren't dead poetic anymore. They should have started a new band after new medicines... if they actually wanted to sound like everyone else. By jedpesu (bla bla bla)
This album can a hold a punch, almost First album to listen. The lyrics and some song titles suggest they're Christian to me. Does "alt CCM" ring any bells? I'm Roman Catholic and that's close enough. I think they're leaning towards experimenting especially after 7 tracks, they go "soft". The only thing that keeps emo alive is if that voice can sound less whiney, more yearning and desparate, which is noticeable particularly on tracks such as "Cannibal Vs. Cunning" & "Crashing Down". Not bad if this band can keep their hopes up after this outing and 10 years. By Hmmm ... (Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA)
Dead Poetic's new album is definitely not a let down! I just got the new album Vices and I'm really amazed by it. Dead Poetic's other albums, New Medicines and Four Wall Blackmail, were good, but this album clearly shows how good they truly are. The songs have so much meaning and passion. I particularly like the song, "Vices" because it is such a deep song. If you like songs filled with soul, meaning, and passion then this album is meant for you! By tearsfadeaway (Easton, MD, USA)
Dead Poetic are back! There have been so many great albums released this year, and I am glad to say that this is definatly one of them. Easily dead poetics' best work to date, every song seems to be filled with a new passion and excitment that we didn't even know was missing. I felt that their last work, New Medicines, was good...but just that. It had amazing songs on it, and they were surrounded by pretty mediocre ones. Because of this, I was excited about this release, and anticipating the fact that they may produce a much more well rounded work - without sacrificing the amazing songs we know they are capable of, Dead Poetic have done just this with Vices. Now, we can only wait with baited breath for their next release in another two years [lets hope] - but in the mean time, let one of your Vices be this album. By lasthidingplace (North Wales, UK)
