David Rose is the creative force behind Stellar Ash. This multi-talented musician was born in the village of Eganville in the heart of the Ottawa Valley. David had a desire for composing and playing music beginning at a young age. He began playing the piano at age 3 and, in true valley style, soon picked up the fiddle to accompany his brother and sister while they step-danced. As an adolescent, Dave ignited his passion for guitar, a relationship which he has continually fostered and nurtured for the last 15 years. At the age of 17, Dave took a high school co-op placement in Ottawa at recording studio where he took the opportunity to record 'Stranded' (1994), his first full length album. Without a band, Dave recorded all of the instruments himself. The album reflected a personal connection to his music and showcased the 60's guitar rock and 90's grunge style arrangements that were the predominant musical influences at the time. At 18 Dave decided to expand his experiences and moved to Banff, Alberta.
