| | Pasquale, Sue & The Windy City Be-Bop Trio Mostly Bop CD Pasquale, Sue & The Windy City Be-Bop Trio Discography of CDs
Sue understands the concept of what lyrics are all about. How refreshing to hear a vocalist who actually can sing!! She possesses a beautiful voice and uses it in creating a wonderful tribute to the story that the song writer intended. Sue enhances the melodies to their greatest intent and then through her interpretation of vocalese and scat, makes a statement of her own as any instrumentalist would, always keeping in mind good taste and the original feel of what the songwriter intended. The combination of Bill Pasquale on guitar, Mark Neuenschwander on bass, and Dave Poe on baritone sax, provide a marvelous underlay for Sue to perform within. The arrangements blend vocal and instrumental prowess to their fullest extent. The choice of songs lends an impeccable air of flow to the album. The title of the cd, "Mostly Bop" fully tells the listner what to expect –"good music and a refreshing time".-Bruce Oscar, WDCB Radio, Chicago Mostly Bop Music | List Price | $13.50 (You save $1.51) | | Category | Jazz Albums | | Label | CD Baby | | CD Universe Part number | 7304507 | | Catalog number | 104598 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Sep 19, 2006 |

| | Bill Mize Tender Explorations CD (1997)
Mostly Bop music CDs
$15.19 Mize has perfected his technique and greatly improved his compositional skills, leading to a collection that is gorgeous and compelling. While the overall mood of the album is thoughtful and provocative, "The Road Scholar" provides an upbeat, exciting tune to begin the album, and its driving joyfulness makes it one of Mize's most rewarding compositions. "Freefall," which Mize describes as the soundtrack to a meteor shower, also demonstrates his ability to play upbeat, melodic tunes without sounding rushed or forced. The other songs tend to be quieter, beautifully evoking scenes from Mize's Appalachian home with melodies that are simple yet memorable. Mize uses a variety of techniques to develop these songs, and is particularly adept at the use of harmonics to color his work. This is particularly evident on a nice cover of Stephen Foster's "Hard Times" and the driving, turbulent "Miasma," the darkest piece on the collection. Mize includes guest musicians Ed Gerhard and Martha Jacobs on three pieces, and his interplay with them is encouraging for future collaborative efforts. A beautiful album. ~ Marc Castellani

| | Mojo Filters CD (2005)
Mostly Bop album
$12.69 It's not easy to stand apart in the L.A. Music scene. Amidst the electroclash and the pop-punk lies a band with a heart and soul all of their own. The Mojo Filters. Although influenced by many, their sound is dictated by none. They play what they like. Although their sound is constantly developing its not dictated by what's considered "the flavor of the month. " They can move a room full of people without the need or use of electronic gimmickry, so prevalent in dance music today. And somehow they do it all without falling into the 'throwback' hole. Despite their nostalgic influences and musical make-up, they are very contemporary." (Adrian Monroy, Skinny Magazine) Their sound is comprised of early 60's R&B, soul and garage textured with a modern feel. Curtis Mayfield, Small Faces, The Yardbirds, Otis Redding: these bands are but a few of the influences that can be heard in the Mojo Filters.Born in 1997, the Mojo Filters began as a creative outlet to counter university life. Long-time friends Clifton Weaver and George Karambelas came together with schoolmate Anish Chandra and decided to drink, smoke and play music all day. With addition of George's brother, Jimmy the core line-up was complete. Practicing their night away in a parking garage, the Mojo Filters polished their sound and began to play local bars and ...
