(3 Customer Reviews)
With her piercing vocals and sensual, exotic sound, Loreena McKennitt has single-handedly made tangible the passions of Celtic and pagan life for her large, devoted audience. Her fourth release, THE VISIT, was her breakthrough, a satisfying mixture of original compositions and adaptations. "The Lady of Shalott" is an 11-minute rendition of the Alfred Lord Tennyson poem, while McKennitt archly notes that she sings the subdued "Greensleeves" in her best Tom Waits impersonation.

Visit
$15.65 Loreena McKennitt began her career as a New Age pop chanteuse, steeped in Celtic folk mysticism and possessed of an airy, ethereal voice. Over the course of her career she has dabbled to varying extremes in the pop format, but she remains true to the spirit of the traditional balladeer on THE BOOK OF SECRETS. With the aid of top-flight musicians like Danny Thompson and David Rhodes, she weaves a web of fanciful, wispy folk-rock that's not afraid to be beautiful as it pulls listeners in with it's comforting hypnotic qualities.

$9.59 Following the release of 1986's heavy metal classic PEACE SELLS BUT WHO'S BUYING?, half of Megadeth's original line-up abruptly split. Guitarist Chris Poland and drummer Gar Samuelson parted, leaving the band in the hands of guitarist/singer Dave Mustaine and bassist Dave Ellefson. Despite the fact that the two remaining Megadeth members had become addicted to hard drugs, they wasted little time in finding replacements in drummer Chuck Behler and guitarist Jeff Young. This second lineup lasted just long enough to issue ...

$8.39 To say the least, this is Nick Funyak. A solo artist emerging from Western Pennsylvania, Nick has been involved with music since childhood. Starting guitar at the age of 13, he began writing bar chord songs soon after learning the basics. Although he never took his guitar playing serious enough to become a wizard, he always found the craft of writing to be of a much greater joy. Just 2 years after starting guitar, he began playing bass, followed by drums a year later. It wasn't until after he left his former ska band ...
