This music has been in me since I was a kid. Yet, in all my years of recording and performing, it's my first solo record and my first blues record. During my gradeschool years I loved the sounds of the delta and the sounds of Chicago blues. Growing up in Southern, IL. along the Mississippi, my home in Randolph Co. was the halfway point. By the time I was 12 I had begun performing with older musicians. It was a great escape from hard work on Dad's farm. By the time I was 17 I was working with a blues oriented electric group, "Farm". We got lots of airplay on what was then "underground" FM radio. A few years later Farm had run it's course and European reissues and bootlegs followed. I returned to the acoustic sounds I loved, playing across the U.S. and abroad with The Gordons. "Real Blue" comes from way down inside... Some are originals, some I had written for the great blind bluesman Jimmy Skinner, some obscure, a few in tribute to the originators who influenced me so deeply. undahoggs@undahoggs It all started in a cold basement in Marina California. Marina is located in between Seaside and Salinas on the Central Coast 831. Chiefa would make beats on his Yamaha keyboard. Since 1990 Billy Bud Toker had been using instrumentals of singles to make undaground tracks on his home stereo for the Buffnecks to bump. Tef Shaun appeared on a couple of Billy Bud's undaground tracks in the mid 90's. We all knew each other and what our musical interest were but never collaborated on any songs until the summer of 1999 when they decided to work together forming a group called "Ronin". Then barely 6 months later Billy Bud met a co-worker named DJ RObsta the Turn-Table Mobsta who produced beats with his brother-in-law MI Insane and were looking for some artists to work with. We set up a meeting and from that meeting agreed to work together eventually forming the foundation of Funk Spot Records.

In 1994 J-Cub and BBT reunited after high school working together in Pebble Beach. They both did music on the unda and motivated each other to never quit and one day if one of ' em ever got their foot in the door that they would bring along the other.
