| | Fontenot, Elvis & The Sugar Bees Not Necessarily In That Order CD Fontenot, Elvis & The Sugar Bees Discography of CDs
Formed way back in the mists of 1993, Elvis Fontenot and the Sugar Bees have gone from playing in the upstairs room in the King's Head in Stoke-on-Trent to being voted the number 1 zydeco band in Europe in 2006. This, their second CD, sees them showcasing the mix of self-penned and classic swamp'n'roll tunes that have won them friends and admirers across Europe and Louisiana, where they have twice toured. Watch out for them making their way across Louisiana and Texas in 2007 - in the meantime, they'll be found at a venue near you in their UK home. | | Pentangle Basket Of Light CD (1969)
Not Necessarily In That Order
$9.99 Though they had fellow British folk-rockers like Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span for company, Pentangle explored a musical world of their own design. Their all-acoustic sound combined traditional British folk with jazz, rock and Indian music, much as American groups like the Airplane and the Dead were mating their roots with other influences. BASKET OF LIGHT is perhaps the finest of Pentangle's excellent early recordings.
As always, the focal point is crystal-voiced singer Jacqui McShee, capable of giving peer Sandy Denny a run for her ...

Not Necessarily In That Order
$9.29 An expanded version of Jerry Jeff Walker's second solo effort. MR. BOJANGLES includes the original mono single mix of the title song. The strings that were removed from the album version are here intact.
The rest of the album is very much of its day, a mix of good-timey folk, country, and rock with a definite hippie ethos, as witness the anti-music industry screed "I Keep Changin'." Other highlights include the moody, meditative ...

"Steve LukatherTotoJuan's journey began in his native country, Colombia. At sixteen years old, Juan already was breaking from the mainstream. Instead of following a route toward salsa, vallenato and merengue, Juan found himself drawn to the electric guitar and the emerging underground rock scene. His obsession resulted in several albums, a number one radio hit, countless live shows, and an abundance of powerful songs. In a country where public interest in rock is secondary to more traditional forms, Juan brought his fiery guitar riffs to the public and the public loved it. While in university, Juan formed the alternative rock band, Emma Hoo, as the lead singer and guitarist. Three months later, the band was offered a record deal, which resulted in the release of their first album. Emma Hoo quickly gained a cult following, playing many major festivals and sold out concerts.Juanâs next project, La Universal, was an original, genre-busting ...
