This group grew up in south Texas and southern California, where they developed their interest in the music of the original Sons of the Pioneers. This interest soon became fascination, then dedication as their love for this music generated a devotion and passion which has stayed with them and grown all these many years. Not being "people of means", they were not able to devote serious time to their music, although over the years it was a big part of their past time when possible to be together. They all found themselves working in various forms of engineering work and raised their families. When retirement age was approaching, they began to find opportunity to spend more time with their music, and first started "going public" with it in 1993. Since that time they have been increasingly active in western music circles, attending various western music festivals and performing publicly at numerous venues around the country. In the later nineties they began recording and have now produced four original albums (only two of which are available on CD's), nearly all songs and tunes of which are Sons of the Pioneers originals. This, their fifth album is a composite of 31 songs from the four previous albums. This fifth album is entitled "the best of The New Pioneers" and offered as a Special Limited Edition CD only. $14.55 Patty Loveless' MOUNTAIN SOUL II is not a strict sequel to its 2001 predecessor. Whereas the former album was chock-full of bluegrass tunes both historical and contemporary, the sequel is a far more diverse collection that includes traditional songs, country music classics, and some new originals--and yes, there are a couple of bluegrass tunes in the mix. Loveless and her husband, producer Emory Gordy, ...

$9.59 Our Lord is the goal, His word is the path, and the music of gospel band "Simply Praise" is the vehicle. Almost five years ago, singer, keyboardist JonTod Shriver and singer Janet Shriver answered the Lord's call - coming together to celebrate His word and to sing His praise as "Simply Praise." One could say the Lord planted the seed in a bathtub near Tijuana over thirty years ago. JonTod was six years old and taking a bath when his mother asked if he would like to learn to play the piano. And while JonTod was busy singing in the tub, over in Puerto Rico Janet was singing her little heart out in the backyard of her childhood home. In those days, her microphone was a lemon on the end of a stick. Encouraged by neighbors who enjoyed watching ...
