Standard Screen; English Subtitles This kinetic horror/action hybrid stars Tak Sakaguchi as Prisoner KSC2-303, a criminal who has just escaped from a maximum security prison. Heading to the Forest of Resurrection to meet up with some gangsters, KSC2-303's escape plan soon veers off course when an argument with one of the gangsters leads KSC2-303 to shoot him. Worse still, KSC2-303 finds out the hard way that when you kill something in the Forest of Resurrection, it does not stay dead. Things get even more complicated when all the dead people the gangsters have buried in the forest begin coming back to life and packing heat. Blending zombie horror with EVIL DEAD 2 style slapstick and Hong Kong action pyrotechnics, VERSUS is a very bloody and very enjoyable thriller. Versus Reviews: "...A Japanese zombies-vs.-gangsters action-horror comedy that plays like Quentin Tarantino remaking THE EVIL DEAD while on a speed binge..."

Weakness Versus Corny! Cool concept gone wrong. Obviously low budget, with action and gore failing to satify. Geeks for violence will probably disagree with me. Submitted by Ghes (Hawaii) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

This movie is off the chain. The first time you watch the movie you miss the little things in the film. The movie is in constant motion. There not a lot of drama. Just loads of action and funny moments you would find impossible or just plain ridiculous. This is a zombie, yukuza, samurai, dansel in distress, and cool guys in latest fashion going all out. You will not be dissapointed. Submitted by a reviewer (Chicago, IL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

$23.15 After PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and ATONEMENT, Keira Knightley continues her reign as the queen of the period film with this 18th-century costume drama. The corset-clad actress stars as Georgiana Spenser, the Duchess of Devonshire. With her marriage to the duke (Ralph Fiennes), Georgiana achieves an impressive level of fame as Britons follow both her clothing style and her political advice. But even celebrity and wealth can't act as a salve in her marriage to the boring, boorish duke. When he begins to flaunt his affairs, Georgiana is tempted to return to a teenage crush, Charles Grey (Dominic Cooper of THE HISTORY BOYS), to the anger of her husband and her mother (Charlotte Rampling, SWIMMING POOL).
Fiennes's portrayal of the duke ranks roughly with his Lord Voldemort on a scale of beastly behavior, but the acclaimed actor manages to give him a level of humanity that far surpasses what he deserves. THE DUCHESS focuses on the lack of power possessed by Georgiana and, in fact, all women of her time, and the duke is the primary agent of her suppression. As she has done with other period films from the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN series to KING ARTHUR, ...

$12.85 Beginning just hours after the original HELLRAISER ended, HELLBOUND finds young Kristy (Laurence) waking up in a mental institution because she insisted on describing her parents murderers as pain-loving demons from hell to the authorities. Unfortunately, she has been placed in the car of Dr. Channard, who has devoted his life to solving the Lament Configuration, the key to the doorway of hell, and now, with Kristy, he believes he has found another key. Resuscitating the skinless corpse of her stepmother, Julia, Dr. Channard succeeds in opening a doorway to hell, one that Julia, Channard, Kristy, and her mute friend Tiffany all travel through.
Based on a story by Clive Barker, HELLBOUND is both a continuation of the original as well as a much different take on its story and universe. Here, the film fashions itself after an ALICE IN WONDERLAND type fairy tale as it focuses on Kristy and Tiffany's adventures in hell as well ...

$14.35 X: In the vein of other psychological Spanish thrillers like OPEN YOUR EYES and INTACTO, EQUIS explores what happens when a person can longer trust his own version of reality. Javier (a homicide detective) wakes up one morning in an unknown bed with no recollection of the previous evening. Brushing this off as the unfortunate outcome of a night filled with heavy drinking, he goes to work. But when the murder case he is assigned to leads him back to the same street and the same unfamiliar house, Javier knows something is very wrong. As he investigates a murder in which he is the only suspect, Javier develops a strange and intense relationship with the victim's family, as well as a woman who, while beautiful, cannot be trusted. In the end, it is up to Javier to unearth the truth before it buries him.
SCHOOL KILLER: This stylish Spanish horror film stars Paul Naschy, the legend of international horror who has played countless monsters and villains, garnering a reputation as the Spanish Lon Chaney. In the tradition of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, the story unfolds as a group of former students from the Monte Alto International High School return to pass a night in its now-shuttered confines; the proceedings are recorded by the tech-savvy Jordi (Zoe Berriatua), who wears a mini-cam in his hat. The school has been closed down since a brutal bloodbath perpetrated by an insane security guard years earlier. The group is a motley bunch, led by the confident and logical Ramon, whose motivations as the night progresses are cast in an ever more doubtful light. As the kids are picked off one by one, they encounter visions of the previous massacre, and the question presents itself: is the murderer human or not? Naschy's evil night watchman is played with characteristic aplomb, making this late-career performance a resounding testament to a lifetime spent perfecting villainy. The gut-wrenching suspense and well-executed gore make this chiller a truly terrifying experience.
EL NOMINADO: A dystopic view of the world of reality television, EL NOMINADO takes it to its logical extreme, speculating on just how far producers will go to garner ratings. TV exec Patricio (Francisco Reyes) is spearheading a new reality-TV show that is slated to air opposite a popular soccer match. A group 10 people of disparate backgrounds ...

$9.69 Hip-hop hilarity ensues when millionaire rap star C-Note (Outkast's Antwan Andre Patton) decides to apply for membership at the snooty Carolina golf and polo club where his dad once worked as a caddy. Club president Mr. Cummings (Jeffrey Jones) seethes with hostility but his nymphomaniac wife (Susan Ward) takes a shine to C-Note's buddy, Big Large (Faizon Love) and Cumming's portly rap loving son is thrilled, encouraging C-Note to "beat my dad." Romantic potential surfaces with a cute African American lawyer (Tamala Jones), hired by Cummings to find legal ways to deny C-Note membership. Later, Cummings employs a little person assassin named Big Willie Johnson (BAD SANTA's Tony Cox) to get rid of C-Note, "permanently." Devotees of cult golf comedy CADDYSHACK (1980) will feel most at ease over this bumpy course, especially when Garrett Morris--a compatriot of CADDYSHACK star Bill Murray in the original SNL-- shows up in a hilarious bit as a flashy reverend-lawyer. Before the big final golf match there's time for a bootylicious cook-out, a cruise in C-Note's pimped-up, no2-powered golf cart, some tough love with the ...
