QUES HAS A UNIQUE musical style with great lyrical content and vocal deliverance that far surpasses other mc's. Idolizing rap legends such as Rakim, Biggie, 2 Pac, and Jay Z, Ques' music focuses on issues like the struggles of poverty, fame and relationships. And, unlike most rappers, Ques' songs paint a picture for his listeners of what life is really about. Ques was raised for most of his life in the Bronx, New York. Born in Haiti in Ques' life changed dramatically at age two when his father, a political dissident, was brutally murdered in cold blood. Ques' music is a tribute to his Haitian roots, his father's dream and the Bronx neighborhood he grew up in. A star in the Bronx by 18, Ques became a local hit and began performing in clubs like Pyramid, Speed, West End lounge and Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Soon, he was opening shows for stars such as Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, and Elephant man. His music was also included on the movie soundtrack for 'Sucker Punch'. This momentum continued and extended into work in television and on Broadway. Ques is also ranked one of NY's #1 unsigned talents and continue to climb charts on almost every top mp3 Internet websites from allhiphopgame to Garageband . $9.58 Had Clipse made a concerted attempt to outstrip Hell Hath No Fury, Til the Casket Drops would have likely come out sounding like self-parody. The Thorntons' previous set was so cold, lean, and efficient, the product of the circumstances under which it was made, that it is impossible to imagine ...
| | Timbaland Shock Value II CDs (2009) Deluxe Edition
Open Book CD music
$16.90 Shock Value produced a pair of smash singles in "Give It to Me" and "The Way I Are," thus necessitating a sequel. Timbaland does not stock Shock Value II with quite as many guests, and performs a higher percentage of the vocals, and what results is less schizophrenic and more directly pop than its antecedent. The highs here are not as high, and the lows are as low, unless you consider the very presence of Chad Kroeger and Daughtry, or the unveiling of Brandy's rapping alter ego Bran' Nu, to be more odious than a sub-Coldplay ballad. What does come through is that the producer has his sight set on a younger crowd, a notion apparent through the appearances ...

$6.69 From the moment the grinding bass line comes pouring through the unassuming speakers, merged seamlessly with the flamboyant staccato of the snare and sharp zing of the strings, it's apparent that Big Yo (Marrio Marshall) is bringing something unique to Hip Hop-an unwavering sense of musicality. "I've been rapping since kindergarten," he says with a trace of laughter. "I even remember saying on career day that I wanted to be a rapper." Honing his skills on the microphone, the Memphis native teamed up with neighborhood friend and fellow aspiring rapper/producer, Tommy Wright III-who has since gone on to achieve local and regional success. He contributed production to Tommy's independent release, On the Run and found that his affinity for Hip Hop was not just a passing phase, but a culture and genre that he was willing to make sacrifices for. In 1996, he moved to Atlanta, drawn to the city's rich musical history, and quickly formed relationships with numerous area artists and producers. Joining forces with Fi Records in late 1999, a local label that had alliances with several established musicians, Big Yo found himself the house beatsmith, working with celebrated regional and national acts including, Lil Blunt (Bluntnatized), Sammy Sam (Still Intoxicated), Indo G, the Yin Yang Twinz and Ghetto Mafia. All the while, he was still creating and conceptualizing his own album, and making frequent guest appearances as an emcee on numerous projects. With his spitfire flow and heartfelt lyrics, soon it was apparent that he was just as dedicated to rapping as he was to producing tracks. "I try to avoid saying cliche shit as far as weed smoking, drinking and saying I'm the 'realest' and all that," he says. "I try to keep it lyrical but I don't want it to get to where normal kats can't understand me." Then, in 2003, after buying an album by Mr. Mike (formerly of Suave House Records, Priority Records) he formed an alliance that would grant him the respect he'd been ...
| | lil Crise a k a The Future The Toybox CD (2006)
Open Book CD music
$14.79 Born into a family of musicians this young wonderkin showed early signs of rhythm, I knew I saw greatness when my nephew (my great aunt's site http:// panonthenet /woman/2005/Albino-deCoteau.htm)was able to bang out the rhythmic pattern of any song emanating from the radio on his feeding tray, As a matter of fact the only reason the child would cry was when the radio was turned off . I remember his dad would sit him down on his lap at some of his rehearsals when his current gig was the drummer, he'd even make him play the hi hats while he was playing the pedals . Delaun(lil Crise) once told me"he would drive me crazy with music but im glad he gave me lessons in the drums, the piano, the guitar and just recently the bass" . Being that his father owns a recording studio in the heart of Brooklyn, which music influences are predominantly Rap, Delaun would ultimately fall under that blanket His dad had wanted initially to have someone write for him and even though he(crise) told him he can do it himself he went ahead and wrote 2 songs, which were great and every one was exited but when I bought my book of rhymes it brought more of me to the table and of course the ghost writer wouldn't be needed any more. 8 songs were finished but we were told I was too young for the game, ha" he exclaimed" if bow wow and Romeo could do it, was the world really ready for me Lil C r is e"I have the album myself and it aint like nothing yall got on the radio. Hope you are ready. Im proud to know this is my great nephew that has an independent cd with over 2,000 sold already, & been on two syndicated rap shows (bet,& bcat) & having performed @ ny's harlem week, & for the and 1 Players & for lil kim & associates ...
