| | Matt Redman Beautiful News CD Matt Redman Discography of CDs
The British CCM singer-songwriter Matt Redman's first album since 2004's successful FACEDOWN plays to his strengths as a performer of uplifting, communal praise songs. The focus of BEAUTIFUL NEWS is on the constant presence of God through times of tribulation, as demonstrated in the heartfelt "You Never Let Go," and the full-throated, meditative "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made." Redman also partners with Delirious? singer Martin Smith on "Take It to the Streets" and "All Over the World," and Smith's presence may be responsible for the edgier, more rock-oriented feel of much of this inspiring set. Matt Redman's return to prowess came with this confident, emboldened collection of Brit-pop-style worship. Short of a rogue hit here and there, the talented songwriter had failed to live up to his potential with his releases in 2002 and 2004. Beautiful News put him back in the center of everyone's radar screen with its emotive, high-energy output. Even the ballads are crafted with pointed stylings that maintain the album's stirring momentum. The simple yet meaningful album title comes from John 3:16 -- common fodder for worship artists if ever there was any. Yet Redman injects creative imagery and thoughtfulness where others have settled for the routine. If Delirious? ever produced a cover album of Chris Tomlin standards, it might sound like this. Fresh, fervent, and potent, Beautiful News stirs the souls of young and old alike. ~ Jared Johnson Beautiful News Review

| | Geek Rhythms CD (2005)
Beautiful News
$13.65 The idea for this music CD came spontaneously - combine music and technology discourse and what better music to present it than rap and other rythms. The premise is simple, to introduce the Geek world to non-Geeks and inject the technical matter with some levity that it deserves. I hope you will enjoy the CD for the music and the lyrics. Rikki is the brains behind musical interpretation of the lyrics, composed and mixed all the songs. He also has support vocals in this album. His enthusiasm and energy enriched this project many-fold. | | Skillet Alien Youth CD (2001)
Beautiful News
$9.99 Skillet: John L. Cooper (vocals, bass, programming, samples); Ben Kasica (guitar); Korey Cooper (keyboards, programming, samples, background vocals); Lori Peters (drums). Additional personnel includes: Kevin Haaland (guitar); Nikki Frey, Teresa Pingitore (violin); Wendy Brookes (cello). Skillet: John L. Cooper (vocals, bass instrument, programming, sampler); Ben Kasica (guitar); Korey Cooper (keyboards, programming, sampler, background vocals); Lori Peters (drums). With the release of their fourth studio opus, entitled Alien Youth, the band Skillet establishes themselves as true pioneers in progressive Christian music. While prior releases seemed to feel their way through the dark, Alien Youth finds the light switch. The title cut kicks off the disc with splendor, as heavy, distorted guitars drive the tune into an alternative peak. "Vapor" offers much the same heaviness, as Jon Cooper sings through a wall of guitars at the chorus. When the band lies back in favor of acoustic guitars and programmed drums, they seem to be at their best. "You Are My Hope" is a cut that takes you places without leaving your seat. Here, the band utilizes well-placed backup vocals and an inspiring chorus to shine. The same is true for the cut "One Real Thing." On the song, Jon Cooper ...
