| | Notorious B I G Ready To Die CD Notorious B I G Discography of CDs
Once he stepped out onto the scene as the rapper on the remix of Mary J. Blige's hit single "Real Love," many hip-hop fanatics anxiously awaited the debut of The Notorious B.I.G. a.k.a. Biggie Smalls. Their prayers were answered with READY TO DIE, fifteen tracks of uncut, hard-core, lyrically sophisticated rap all complemented by hypnotic beats supplied by the underground's most prominent producers. READY TO DIE resumes where his "Juicy" single left off, but separates itself from the array of hip-hop albums that don't live up to the initial hit.
Blowin' up the charts using his knowledge of the streets and hard bangin' snares provided by producer Easy Mo Bee, the Bedford-Stuyvesant native Notorious B.I.G. is far from "Ready To Die." Not since the likes of Slick Rick has there been an artist so successful in the storytelling genre of rap music, creating a mental picture of life in the heads of his listeners. The up-tempo "Gimme The Loot" illustrates the hustlin' ways of a trigger-happy robbery expert stressed from the "Everyday Struggle" of life. The recurrence of the Isley Brothers tune "Between The Sheets" adds to the charm of "Big Poppa," where Biggie portrays his "player" image. No need to skip any songs, READY TO DIE is packed with hits all the way through.

$10.49 With TRAP MUZIK, Georgia rapper T.I. boldly established himself as a young rapper to watch and a sought-after guest artist. As if to cement his stardom, T.I. opens his third record, URBAN LEGEND, with one of the most famous declarations in the history of hip-hop, Run-DMC's "I'm the kiiiing," building the assured track ("Tha King") around a sleek "Hit It Run" sample. On that song, T.I. wanders around the rap iconography of the South, ...

Ready To Die music CDs
$9.39 England's the Cooper Temple Clause were an instant success with music fans and undeniably claimed the unofficial title of British Music Magazine's "Darlings of 2002," earning popularity and respect in equal measures throughout the year. On See This Through and Leave, no less than five singles are collated together with equally impressive album tracks to provide one of the most accomplished debut efforts of any British rock band since Mansun or Muse. Creepy opener "Did You Miss Me?" draws you in unsubtly before dispatching you to experience the pulsating "Film-Maker," a trademark song if ever there was one. With its searing guitar and two-part harmonies synonymous with Brit rock, the melody is direct, and like the rest of the album, the lyrics are unnerving in their ambiguity. It's already relentless stuff, but there's little sign of a reprise as it segues into the Primal Scream-inspired "Panzer Attack," where you learn that naming a song after a type of military tank is quite deliberate, not in the heavyweight sense but in its driving incessancy. It would be obvious for the album to maintain this tempo, but on the classy single "Who Needs Enemies?" vocalist Ben Gautrey reminds listeners "A killer-key change is all you'll ever need." That, and some delicately weighted horn fills. There's a healthy electronic input too, especially on the divulging "555-4823," which builds a captivating if slightly wobbly bridge between the singles "Let's Kill Music" and "Been Training Dogs," sampling all things British, including the chimes of Big Ben and a BBC Radio news bulletin. After hammering ...

$6.69 Severin 24 "[Teepee]"By: Wednesday Elektra(Space JunkiesMagazine, nefariousmag ,Neo-zine"Just looking at the cover art for this album is impressive enough. I don't think Severin 24 even had to send in a press kit or other information to grab my attention - they could have just sent me their CD and nothing else, I would have been amazed just the same. The vivid colors of yellow & orange against black with crisp fonts and awesome layout design was enough to lure me in. Music wise, I wasn't sure what to expect, after reading one good review after another I had to check it out for myself. With the most part I agree with all the reviews of Severin 24 that I've read. This is definitely one of the most ear grabbing CD's I've ever heard. A few of the tracks were recorded live and even for live material the sound quality was near perfect, everything was level and clean sounding. The best description of how they sound runs parallel to electronica versus synthpop with that extra bounce that drum n bass offers. I really enjoyed this album, and I'm not a huge fan of electronic based music. I believe Severin 24 is the only exception (that I've heard so far that is!). I'll be listening to this 4 track disc called [teepee] for a long time to come. „A stomping piece of funk, electro and space rock, all melted together in a kind of comic strip art-punk alloy", heißt es im Pressetext zu dieser CD. Das klingt etwas hochtrabend, aber zeigt den Enthusiasmus und den jugendlichen Charme dieser Veröffentlichung auf. Das geplante Album wird hoffentlich den guten ersten Eindruck dieses Projektes untermauern, das die Welt mit ihren Liveauftritten im Sturm erobern will.Falk Lenn" moderne-klangkunst"www.moderne-klangkunst.de'Teepee' by Severin 24 is the debut single from former French punk rocker(ex Garlic Frog Diet ...
