On his third full-length album as Bow Wow, 2006's THE PRICE OF FAME, young rapper Shad Moss, the artist formerly known as Lil Bow Wow, presents a confident set of hip-hop tracks that follow quickly on the heels of '05's WANTED. Bolstered by the remarkably catchy lead single "Shortie Like Mine," which features R&B singer Chris Brown, the album points to the increasing maturity of Bow Wow (age 19 at the time of the disc's release), particularly on the tough, slightly "screwed" "Don't Know About That." Although some fans may still associate Bow Wow with his pop-leaning early records, THE PRICE OF FAME proves that he's able to more forward with talent and integrity.
This set includes his new CD plus a limited edition bonus DVD, including a music video, fan edition video including contest winners photos from online contest, behind-the-scenes photos of the video shoot, and photo gallery. Price Of Fame album
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds dangerously close to a lounge version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing," but this minor faux pas is redeemed by the Irish folk medley "Joy of Life/Trout in the Bath" which arguably features more full-on Irishness than the Dublin production of RIVERDANCE. There's also a lovely rendition of Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" that's topped only by Ron Wood's reappearance ...
| | Chamillionaire Sound Of Revenge CD (2005) Parental Advisory
Price Of Fame CD music
$13.19 With THE SOUND OF REVENGE, Chamillionaire's 2005 Universal debut, the Houston-based rapper makes the most of his major-label deal, which includes his own Chamillitary imprint. On SOR, Paul Wall's former collaborator amps up that duo's signature chopped-and-screwed mixtape sound with heavy-duty arrangements that expertly showcase Chamillionaire's deep, husky voice. The introductory title track is marked by machine-gun beats, and establishes the album's fierce, restless ...

| | Art Laboe's Dedicated To You Vol. 3 CD (1994)
Price Of Fame songs
$7.79 Digitally remastered (Royal Sound Studios, Hollywood, California).
The DEDICATED TO YOU series contains the most requested songs from Art Laboe's Killer Oldies radio show.
Art Laboe is a legendary DJ who came to prominence in the '50s in Los Angeles playing doo wop and R&B. He became a promoter, club owner. and syndicated radio star; his Killer Oldies show is still going strong. He is also a label proprietor with Original Sounds. The label's Dedicated to You series is made up of ballads, dance tracks, and classic sides from the '50s to the '80s. The wide range of songs makes for a sometimes disjointed listening experience as not all the segues between eras make sense. Still there is a lot of fine R&B, soul, girl group sounds, and funk that will make you want to dance and reminisce. The highlights ...

Price Of Fame album
$41.75 Digitally remastered by Eddy Schreyer (November 1993, Future Disc).
With their second album, co-produced by Metal Blade's headbanging head honcho Brian Slagel, Satanic thrashers Slayer upped the ante from their debut in every way. More graphic album art, breakneck tempos, gruesome lyrics, and proper production gave the band a punchier sound while retaining their native aggression. Whereas their debut sounded like a band flirting with the dark side, HELL AWAITS is where the band begins to sound truly sinister and evil. Dave Lombardo's famous double bass drumming strongly came into play here, further propelling the lightspeed riffing and twisted solos of Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, who would help propagate a style of carpal tunnel-inducing axework for forthcoming generations of extreme metal bands. To accompany this metal maelstrom, bassist Tom Araya appropriately growled and barked out all manner of dark lyrics, exploring the mind of a ...
| | Stalk-Forrest Group St. Cecilia: The Elektra Recordings CD (2001) (Import) Remastered; United Kingdom
Price Of Fame CD music
$17.79 The saga of the Stalk-Forrest Group is as rich a fable as could have ever been imagined in the tentative rock & roll world of the late '60s. For the first time, the band has been properly documented on St. Cecilia: The Elektra Recordings. This single disc gathers all known tracks from the Elektra Records vaults featuring the band known alternately as both Oaxaca as well as the Stalk-Forrest Group. They would eventually become Blue Öyster Cult less than 18 months after these recordings were completed. St. Cecilia: The Elektra Recordings contains two different, albeit completed versions of essentially the same album -- neither of which have been previously issued. Blending humorous, yet deceptively puerile, lyrics with exceptionally seasoned and intricate melodies and musical arrangements, there is more than a passing resemblance to some other late-'60s bands. The syncopated rhythms and airy harmonies found on title track "St. Cecilia" and on "Arthur Comics" bear striking resemblances to "Love Me Again" or "Small Present" by the Strawberry Alarm Clock. Likewise, the lead guitar riffs and churning beats found on "A Fact About Sneakers" and "Gil Blanco County" could easily be mistaken for unissued Love recordings -- with the latter track even replicating Arthur Lee's unique vocal delivery. Alternately, some of the heavier pieces, such as "Bonomo's Turkish Taffy" and "I'm on the Lamb" project toward the ...
