Though Patti Labelle will perhaps be best remembered for her sultry 1970s funk classics like "Lady Marmalade," the powerhouse R&B singer became increasingly gospel-oriented as her career progressed. THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO PATTI LABELLE is a solid 11-track anthology of some of her finest gospel recordings, including versions of such classics as the Soul Seekers' "God Ain't Through" and original tunes like "You Are My Friend." THE GOSPEL makes it clear that, regardless of the subject matter, Labelle's voice deserves her listeners' praise.

About Time!
Over the decades, Patti Labelle has been a very highly regarded singer with a once in a lifetime voice who just didn't make any records! I think she felt like she was cheating the Lord, or something like that. She should have always been singing gospel. This recording is a kind of homecoming. It's a beatiful, well produced and balanced offering full of joy.

Like the title says is gospel according to Patti, and is a genius fusion between her soul and gospel, wonderful songs in this vintage voice, Patti is the bomb, her vocal make u feel so blessed.
All the recipes goes to cancer research, I hope u buy it, it really worth it!! If u buy the cd in walmart u'll have the bonus track lord's prayer - untouchable and very deep. Luv u Patti!

Th cd is the best way to start the day, the cd is full of energy and great spirit, I begin listening did u pray today up and finish with lord's prayer (bonus track in walmart) in tears, that song is the bomb, touch me every time I hear it.
All of the songs are amazing, I can't decide which one I like more, the duets are fresh and great (that harmony with cece), and the solos are so full of gospel, and church, walking around heaven can really make u walk around heaven, what a tribute to her sisters and parents, just love him are so great2. Anything is that kind of song that can be a big hit, and will be always remember in the future, I can listen "nostalgic" notes :D u can go back in time in god aint through or listen a beautiful ballad my evrything.
Is so great, and her range and vocals are so great, powerfull soulful clear and sometimes fresh :D

Patti Labelle is such a great performer. This album is definitaly made of a variety of music style. "Did you pray today" is stunning and "Walk around Heaven" says it all. Two thumbs way way up.

Aisling is a contemporary Celtic folk band from central Ohio, USA. The band formed in 1997 and made its debut at the Dublin Irish Festival in Dublin, Ohio. Our music features arrangements with hammer dulcimer, fiddle, flute, tin whistle, mandolin, bouzouki, guitar, banjo and bodhran. We play traditional dance tunes, ballads, and original compositions. We like to think of our music as a fusion of Celtic, jazz and chamber music. Our performance venues are festival stages, concert halls, small stages, upscale pubs, and private receptions and parties. We’ve released two CDs since 2004: The Dream (2004), which featured instrumental tracks, and The Pilgrim’s Road (2007), which featured instrumental and vocal tracks.
