This is the DVD from Gwen's solo tour - there are two previous live DVDs from No Doubt tours (get those first - they are better). Gwen has a winning presence and connects well with the audience. I am not much of a fan of eight dancers, its not really my type of show, but since Gwen really doesn't dance it does not detract from her vocals while all the stage gymnastics are proceeding around her. The sound is good, with the live bass and drums from top-notch musicians. Gail Ann Dorsey plays bass, she has toured with David Bowie, and she also hits some soulful high notes on backing vocals. Zach Alford plays the drums, and I remember him from touring with Bruce Springsteen back in 1992. She sings all 12 songs from the L.A.M.B. album, plus two other songs that are now out on her new CD. Rather faithful renditions, plus a bit of crowd sing alongs. If you think her album is fun, the DVD is a nice addition -- just be aware that there are dancers throughout and the show is geared for an audience that I think is younger than me. Gwen is a sweetheart so it gets an extra star for that and the live bass and drums that give the music more momentum than on the CD versions.
