| | Dirk Dickson Collage CD Dirk Dickson Discography of CDs
This is all-instrumental music from a musician in Denver, Colorado who's been playing since 1970. There's a little bit of many things in these songs: some strings, some electronica, some reggae, some sounds from the home and neighborhood. Songs #2 and #8 are experiments in multiple tempi; #9 is a joke. I'm a bassist, and there are three bass soli on here: #'s 4, 6 and 7. #3 is multiple-tracked bass. Please check out "Extraordinary Renditions" via the link at the bottom of this page for a recording that features two friends of mine, Ron Bucknam and Mike O'Neill. They say that collage is THE modern art form. $14.30 Rush is no stranger to best-of compilation albums, they've released a slew of them. They are also no stranger to DVDs. To mark their 35th anniversary, they've released Working Men, which is both; it marks their first best-of live compilation exclusively from the DVD sets Rush in Rio (2003), R30 (2005), and Snakes & Arrows Live (2008). There is also an unreleased cut from R30 -- a killer version of One Little Victory. While fans may simply regard this as a record company cash grab, hardcore fans know how closely Rush monitors each release and controls all aspects of their career. On hearing these tracks without benefit of the visuals, it becomes lucidly clear that in the 21st century, Rush plays more like a hungry act looking to prove themselves rather than as seasoned veterans jaded by the entire business. The instrumental interaction between Neal Peart, Alex Lifeson, and Geddy Lee is utterly uncanny, the anticipation and the willingness to add flourishes and to challenge one ...
| | Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention Roxy & Elsewhere CD (1974) Remastered

It's no secret that one of the most powerful weapons in Zappa's arsenal was his sense of humor, which was at its height in live performance. Consequently, there's no better way to get a feel for the full scope of Zappa's music than on the live ROXY & ELSEWHERE. This set finds Frank at his mid-'70s peak, working with Ruth Underwood, Don Preston, George Duke, etc. While ...

| | Black Tangerine CD (2006)
Collage album
$13.69 The poppy, hum-inducing, delightfully danceable and retro-influenced Black Tangerine recently rose from the ashes of the prominent Portland band Water. Now, with a new CD hot off the press and a new lineup, Black Tangerine fulfills the promise of its accomplished predecessor: its muscular attitude and a shiny top-40 sound.Black Tangerine plays simple, rather unadorned and unadulterated, good ol’ fashioned rock ‘n’ roll with serious pop melodic fireworks. They combine elements as diverse as Classic Rock, Brit Rock, power pop from the 80’s and New Wave to form a sound as ageless as it is unabashedly “retro”. Black Tangerine’s brand of rock in its purest form puts them in the same categories ...

$16.45 I have a passion to see people live their lives to the fullest. As i try to live my life with courage I am always looking for ways to encourage the people close to me to do the same. Part of this mission is sharing hope. Without hope we have nothing to fight off disillusionment. The hope that I have is the hope given to mankind by God through Jesus. Truth is it’s own entity and when discovered it always brings enlightenment. Jesus says, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.†Later Jesus declares, “I am the way the truth and the life.†Knowing Jesus is the beginning of a life truly lived. The journey from here is one that requires vision, courage, and great trust. As a songwriter, I am often trying to engage the listener to a conversation that we may never have. I love to create music that confidently presents ideas in a way that is palatable to a mind who would ordinarily reject such concepts. The beauty of the gospel that I sing is that it is the song of redemption. The scope ot my intended audience is truly global. The style of my music is rock and roll with a retrospective flare. I love blues and jazz ...
