| | Muse Black Holes And Revelations CD (2006)

$13.49 Over the course of their first three studio albums Muse slowly gained ground as one of the more progressive and accomplished rock bands of the 2000s. By the time of 2006's BLACK HOLES AND REVELATIONS, the process was complete. While still steeped in moody Britpop, wall-of-guitar rock, and space-synth soundscapes, BLACK HOLES finds Muse diversifying ...

| | Mike Bloomfield Super Session CD (1968) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Document CD music
$6.75 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), to big-band jazz ("Harvey's Tune").
All the tunes make effective templates for the kind off-the-cuff music-making that in less capable hands might have resulted in simple noodling. In fact, although Bloomfield and Stills don't play together on any of the cuts (Bloomfield played on one side of the original LP, Stills on the other), all three principals get off lots of good licks and producer Kooper has some interesting tricks up his sleeve, as in the over-the-top phasing he lavishes on "You Don't Love Me." The only real disappointment here is that Stills, a far better singer than Kooper, never opens his mouth.
Those familiar with the Live Adventures ...

$6.69 Band Biography**Desert Saints are sponsored by Hacienda Harley-Davidson in Scottsdale, AZ. Rick Hatch, owner.Steve/Guitars: Born on the banks of the mighty Mississippi (St. Louis) and raised in San Jose California, I was a rock & roll junkie from early on. I've been playing guitar since I was 11 and have mostly just played for myself. My Les Paul has been equivalent to everyone else's Scotch. While playing and practicing I was often disturbed by someone banging on my walls or front door for lack of appreciation of my art. Who DOESN'T treasure Van Halen, Led Zepplin, Guns & Roses, AC/DC and the like?JD/Drums: One Christmas my parents replaced the Quaker Oats tube and kitchen counter tops with a drum set for me, and a bass and amp for my brother, Cade. "WOW!" is all I can say. We started all those years ago rockin' in church. Who would have thought all these years later we'd have a real CD and sold 5 songs to a movie producer. It all seems like a dream! Pulling this group of guys together was one of my best feats! When I'm able to get my funk on with the band, I feel like I have my own piece of 'heaven on earth'! Cade/Bass: I cut my musical teeth on country-blues based Gospel music in hot, sweaty 'wrong-side of the track' churches. Then I discovered Grand Funk Railroad. Ray Boatwright (R.I.P) of Mosrite Guitars was my Godfather. However, Mel Schacher of GFR is my Godfather of Bass! Blame him for the 'run, don't walk' bass assault I bring. And 'Saints' bring it! Served desert hot and spicy! Dane/Vocals: Chalk it up to twenty years of hell and sacrifice... Fifteen of those years were spent in the alternative and punk rock trenches of San Francisco/Bay Area (if you know SF then you know "The Nightbreak"). Over the years I formed numerous bands, gained extensive writing, recording and performing experience, and had the occasional brush with success. I finally got burned out on the SF urban music scene, decided to get my commercial pilots license. I finished training in August of 2001; but my career as a pilot was short lived when the terrorist attacks occured one month later: 9/11/2001... I gave up my dream of flying airplanes for a living and wondered up to Lake Tahoe to disappear and nurse my wounds...I got a job driving limo for Harrahs Hotel and Casino - talk about a rolling party. You'd think there wouldn't be any music way up there in the Sierra's; but the Casinos brought in the big acts from everywhere. I was re-inspired. Meeting guys like Toby Keith, Dennis Quaid, Sammy Hagar, Brian Duffy(The Cult) made me hungry again...Somehow I discovered a unique mix of alternative country, hard rock, Tex-Mex and acid blues... "How was I going to find any talented, open-minded musicians to play this stuff?", I thought. So, in March of 2005 I moved to Scottsdale, AZ and found the missing pieces - my brothers: Desert Saints. The Beginnings of Desert Saints:While visiting Arizona in 2004, Dane was introduced to JD through a mutual friend. Dane clearly ...
