Hired Geeks have perfected an intense original sound and a kaleidoscopic live act showcasing the mastery of their unconventional instruments: 6-string slap and tap bass, the Superbone (valve/slide combo trombone), and the Clock and Trigger guitar. The recent addition of math-metal, funk, and jazz influenced drummer Brendon Thomas, combined with the switch of the former drummer Dan Schlicht to trombone, has brought an intense new energy to live shows and tightened up their sound tremendously.

Touring extensively throughout the midwest and into the east coast, Hired Geeks have shared the stage with national acts such as Les Claypool, Mindless Self Indulgence and Tub Ring, as well as ska legends The Toasters, Mustard Plug, and The Skatalites. Hired Geeks played in the first and second "Ska Is Dead" tours (with Catch 22, Mustard Plug, Big D & the Kids Table, The Planet Smashers, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Streetlight Manifesto, and MU330), and performed at the renowned annual ska fest "Skappleton" for the last 6 years. The Geeks have teamed up with former Toasters and Pilfers front man Coolie Ranx for a soon to be released single entitled "Schwipe."
