| In Search Of Ancient Gods Music In Search Of Ancient Gods Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) In search of........ This album still rocks decades later..... Recorded after the first break up of King Crimson, this album has all the influences of that band.
For the hi-end audi-phile the bass is incredible with ultra deep lows. This recording provides a definative listening experience, sonic road test for your sound system and a recording by a fine group of recording artists.
This is one worth the price tag. Submitted by C.Thomas (Scranton, Pennsylvania) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
For completists... Bill Bruford of Brand-X fame??? Obviously, previous reviewer is confusing Bill with Phil Collins?!? Probably due to the fact that both played in GENESIS ;)
"In Search of Ancient Gods" was Paul Fishman's pet project, hoping that putting Bill Bruford's name on the sleeve would stimulate sales...
The album is mostly based on various keyboard textures, rich at times, and rather sparse in some sections. Putting aside Mr. Bruford's involvement (for absolute completists only!), the album is designed as spacy, and fairly structured. Some sounds are somewhat dated, but it makes for an interesting listen if you enjoy instrumental and cosmic arrangements. Submitted by ydamours (Ontario, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
In Search Of Ancient Gods A long-overdue CD release for a prog rock album that drew its inspiration from the books of Erich von Daniken.
Absolute Elsewhere was a one-off group featuring Bill Bruford of Brand-X fame on drums, whose playing is well to the fore. The music is good for chilling out to, and not at all like The War of the Worlds.
Well worth a listen (I still play my copy after 30-odd years), although not in the same league as the likes of Tangerine Dream. For that reason, some may wince at the hefty import price.

In Search Of Ancient Gods songs
$16.24 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a ...

In Search Of Ancient Gods music CDs
$11.89 "El Distorto De Melodica" was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
On their follow up to their hit album SPARKLE AND FADE, Everclear continue to ride the wave of Pacific Northwest grunge that brought them their original success. Mixing three-chord rock and straightforward lyrics about the seamier side of Generation X, Everclear achieve an earthiness that the Foo Fighters and other grunge survivors aim for but never quite seem to attain.
Leader Art Alexakis sings about people besieged by unfortunate circumstances. When he sings "They have never been poor/They have never had the joy of a welfare christmas" In "I Will Buy You A New Life", he makes his characters' plight real with the understanding and insight of someone who's been there himself. Some of the most effective moments come when he draws on his own experiences; his absentee father and his mother's nervous breakdown are each the subject of powerful songs, and when he sings "You wouldn't even know me since you went away" in "Normal Like You" it is unclear whether he is talking about his father, an old ...
| | Very Best Of Cher CD (2003) (Import) Bonus Tracks; Argentina
In Search Of Ancient Gods songs
$20.99 Recorded between 1965 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Kurt Loder.
The word "diva" has been thrown around a great deal in the pop world since the '90s, but Cherilyn Sarkasian, better known as Cher, was one of the original pop divas. As such, she's not only survived but prospered through the ever-changing winds of music trends. THE VERY BEST OF CHER covers all the stylistically varied phases of Cher's career. The tracks run in roughly reverse chronological order, kicking off with her massive '90s dance pop hit "Believe." Along the way, there are stops at '80s power balladry ("If I Could Turn Back Time"), late-'70s disco ("Take Me Home"), early-'70s AM pop ("Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves," "Half Breed"), and of course, the '60s folk/rock/pop hits she recorded as half of Sonny & Cher ("I Got You Babe," "The Beat Goes On"). As a thumbnail sketch of a career spanning four decades and countless twists and turns, VERY BEST OF CHER hits its target dead on.
Displaying an uncanny knack for revival, Cher has arisen from her requisite humble origins as Cherilyn Sarkisian and managed ...

| | Cennet Jonsson Jazzman CD (2008)
In Search Of Ancient Gods album
$15.95 This CD is the first by Cennet Jönsson Quartet and also the first release from Kopasetic Productions. On it, you can hear 7 original compositions, all by Cennet Jönsson except for Hund, which is composed by Jönsson/Jonsson/Hjorth/Nilsson. The musicians are: Cennet Jönsson - soprano and tenor saxophone, Krister Jonsson - guitar, Mattias Hjorth - bass and Peter Nilsson - drums.Review quotes:“..Jönsson has put together a fine quartet to interpret a set of original compositions that are thoroughly engaging, with clean grooves, lyrical themes and exciting solos. The quartet combines the best of the American and European traditions into a whole that is clearly more than the sum of its parts.“- John Kelman/All about jazz "Jönsson’s collective mix jazz voyages with a heavy dollop of groove, ECM atmospherics, and even some free improv. Jönsson focuses on soprano here, utilizing a sweet, yet no less charismatic tone..The group demonstrates its commitment to riding a rollicking vamp on the opening Happy-Go-Lucky." "The quartet also manages to live up to its “jazz” leanings with Jazzman, a tenor feature that demonstrates that these Swedes can swing. An engaging disc, Jönsson ...
