This DVD, recorded live At The Rock 'n Roll Palace in Orlando, Florida, features two of America's most beloved groups. The Platters were one of the top vocal groups of the 1950's, selling 53 million records and being among the first doo-wop groups to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame (1990). The Coasters comic vocals plus the writing and production of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller resulted in a string of wisecracking hits and they were among the first African American singing groups to cross over and to be considered Rock and Roll. By the end of the 50s, the Coasters were one of America's most popular Rock and Roll groups. Rock 'N' Roll Legends - The Platters & The Coasters video
$10.29 A meteor crashes in the desert near a small Arizona town, and research scientist John Putnam (Richard Carlson) thinks it's a spaceship, but no one will believe him except his loyal girlfriend, Ellen (Barbara Rush). Weird evidence begins to back up his theory however, from the strange behavior of some of the locals, to the slime trails, the ghostly noises in the phone lines, and the apparitions of hideous alien eyes swooping down on passing cars. Director Jack Arnold (CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON) lets the story unfold deliberately, and infuses the desert locale with all the unearthly mystery of an alien landscape, helping to make this one of the best science fiction films of the 1950s. Charles Drake ...

Rock 'N' Roll Legends - The Platters & The Coasters review
$26.79 Jools Holland wears many hats, and all of them well. A founding member of the acclaimed band Squeeze, he went on to play with many other groups, and pursued a solo career, in addition to his stints as a TV presenter ,and dabblings in architecture of eccentric leanings. His show LATER...WITH JOOLS HOLLAND marked a resurrection of quality British music programming, and has become known for the consistently excellent talent it features. The series is also set apart by the jam session of all the artists featured on each episode, often accompanied by Jools himself on the piano. This collection includes the best in contemporary hip hop, with over 30 performances from popular artists. Among them are: "Family Affair" (Mary J. Blige), "Crusin'" (D'Angelo), "Keep Your Worries" (Angie Stone & Herbie Hancock), "Don't Leave Me" (Blackstreet), "On & On" ( Erykah Badu), "You Got Me" (The Roots), "Shoulda Woulda Coulda" (Beverley Knight), "I Try: (Macy Gray), "Stand Up" (Ludacris), "Has It Come To This" (The Streets), and many more.
