This reissue of the Psychic Ills' first vinyl releases--"Mental Violence I" and "Mental Violence II"--brings the recordings to CD for the first time, and finds these avatars of minimalism honing the hypnotic, repetitious drone-noise that reached full flower on DINS, their debut on the Social Registry label. This brand of psychedelia is easy to attempt and extraordinarily hard to master, but the Ills do it better than anybody. Previously unreleased tracks "Highway of Death" and "Red-Split" are also included here.
