After starring in the Broadway smash Hairspray, John Pinette returns in the hottest show at the Montreal Comedy Festival. Named "Stand-Up Comedian of the Year" by the American Comedy Awards, Pinette gained wide attention for his role in the Seinfeld finale and is a favorite The Tonight Show guest. With all-new material on everything from health food ("Salad's not food. Salad comes with food.") to family parties ("If you see a skinny person at the Pinette Family reunion, you say, 'And you are married to who?'"), Pinette has one of the most original voices in comedy today. Smart, funny, and large, John Pinette was one of the more original voices in stand-up comedy of the early 2000s. Filmed at his sold-out show at the Montreal Comedy Festival, I'M STARVIN' finds Pinette commenting on everything from food to social trends in a way that is satirical, clever, and always entertaining. John Pinette - I'm Starvin' Movie Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Refreshing and Roll-on-the-floor hysterical John Pinette offers a refreshing comedic performance in this wonderful routine. His impish face and hint of an accent (perhap Bostonian?) make you feel like he is a buddy you hang out with on the weekends. His material is very clean (except for the occasional 'a_ _' or 'b_ _ _ _ _' words used in a cavalier, conversational way--not ever used to demean or speak ill of others) and his portrayal of other ethnicities (Japanese tourists, Italian restauranteers, French soldiers, etc.) is absolutely a riot. Even after viewing this video multiple times, my husband and I still become completely helpless in laughter at his phrasing, vocals, and use of indirect language to get events across (like when he wanted to stop for ice cream, but his driver said there wasn't time, Pinette continued, 'so as he wiped the blood from his forhead, he said he actually could go for an ice cream himself.....' or when speaking of having no eyebrows for a job assignment, ..."people don't know what's wrong, but they're pretty sure something ain't right, and maybe we better take the next elevator, honey." These are just quick samples of the never-ending stream of absolutely hilarious lines and stories delivered by Pinette in this most entertaining video. the funniest subjects with truth in them I travel a lot, and got into the hotel around midnight just to catch part of this on Comedy Central. I laughed so hard, but took me a bit to figure out who he was. I purchased the DVD while on Vacation for a family reunion, and we all watched it, 3 times before I gave my brother the DVD. I though he had a heart attack because he was gasping for breathe the entire time, crying and laughing out loud!! I got another copy, and watched it with my sister, and gave her that copy. SO I got myself another copy and told them Christmas is coming....
He is original, his facial expressions are contagious, his subject matter current, he picks on himself, not others, and folks I know love the guy. So why isn't he on Jack Diamond in the morning?? Submitted by murph (maryland) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

John Pinette - I'm Starvin' video
$11.35 Comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham hits the stage with hilarious new pals Achmed the Dead Terrorist and Melvin the Super hero, as well as old favorites Peanut, Walter, and Jose Jalapeno, in this sidesplitting performance at Washington D.C.'s Warner Theater.
More than just a stand-up comic, Jeff Dunham is a one-man comedy troupe--a ring-leader in a circus of snark. The veteran ventriloquist may be the only one with vocal chords, but he’s often the least vocal, playing straight man to a steam trunk of personalities: Achmed the Dead Terrorist, a goofball skeleton still fighting the infidels; Peanut, an odd purple creature with a fast mouth; Jose Jalapeño, a smooth-talking pepper on a stick; Bubba J, NASCAR’s biggest fan; and Walter, a dirty old man who speaks his mind. Together with his hilarious and irreverent puppets, Dunham riffs on everything from politics to family life, and slays the audience with his quick-witted banter. SPARK ...

John Pinette - I'm Starvin' review
$10.29 Following the outrageous comedies THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY, SHALLOW HAL, and DUMB AND DUMBER, the Farrelly brothers present yet another humorous romp with STUCK ON YOU. This time around a couple of conjoined twins (Greg Kinnear and Matt Damon) are the focus, and this premise provides for a relentless string of clever, absurd, and always-fresh jokes. Bob (Damon) and Walt (Kinnear) are living happy lives, perfectly content to be joined by a patch of skin that extends from armpit to hip and allows them to share a liver. Though they must do everything in tandem, they are best friends and treat each other as individuals with separate lives. Living on Martha's Vineyard, Bob (Damon) owns a popular local diner where he and Walt work as incredibly fast-moving short-order cooks with all four hands in perfect sync flipping burgers and slicing vegetables--this is one of the best gags in the film. However, as the brothers are shown playing hockey, fighting kung-fu style, cruising for babes in a bar, and taking on basically ...
