Shortly after SUPREME CLIENTELE dropped in 2000, Freddie Foxxx boldly proclaimed that "Ghost saved the Wu." As the Clan lumbered into the new millennium, some members' solo work moved mainstream, others fizzled, and the group's appeal as a whole began to fade. Ghostface, on the other hand, led by example, dropping one consistently hot street-level album after another. On MORE FISH, the follow-up (coming a mere nine months after) to his acclaimed 2006 release FISHSCALE, Ghost continues to do his thing, spitting furious flames and flashing grittily surreal hood imagery. Due to the title, the expectation is that MORE FISH might just be a collection of throwaways from the FISHSCALE studio sessions. A more apt way to think of MORE FISH is as a companion album or the second half of a single work. Production-wise, the record sports the same underground sound, featuring a mix of beats from indie-rap heroes like Madlib, MF Doom, Jim Bond, Kool-Aid & Peanut, and Hi-Tek, as well as Ghostface's own production on the hyped-up early 1990s throwback "Ghost is Back." Aside from his Theodore Unit protegees (including his own 17-year-old son, Sun God), Redman, Sheek Louch, Cappadonna, Killa Sin, and Kanye West all put in tight guest appearances. MORE FISH is another tour de force, and exactly what hip-hop heads have come to expect from Wally Kingpin. Ghost is indeed back; fix your mirrors.

Entertainment Weekly (p.85) - "[N]ostalgic soul samples, richly detailed scenes of street life, and an abundance of inventive wordplay." -- Grade: A- Vibe (p.110) - "Festooned with both showy tinsel and raw gristle, it feels somehow safe and experimental, foundational and radical." XXL (Magazine) (p.136) - "[A] surprisingly focused project....With bangin' beats and stellar storytelling..." Mojo (Publisher) (p.100) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "'Alex' is a tale of Hollywood mendacity writ ghetto large. Bizarre, but brilliant." P/S/ From the reviewer saying that New York hip hop is dead, its become common knowledge that the 'SOUTH' has brought DOWN the lyrical quality of Hip Hop music, maybe you should email your favorite southern artists and tell them to stop making those super nintendo sounding beats and buy a dictionary to learn some new words. It might help.. Peace Submitted by Ty (QUEENS-Miami) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.

top quality this is rap at its finest. fishscale was even better, but any album that boasts progressive production and diversity in the tracklist is awesome in my books. "you know i'm no good" is the best song on the album in my opinion. anybody who hates on this album doesnt know hip hop. the first comment, "the only good track is gotta hold on" you have terrible taste in music. this is the most watered down track on the album you need to listen to something goood like outkast (early stuff of course) Submitted by Chris (Ottawa Ontario) Was This Review Helpful? $10.45 Title and all, Nas's eighth solo album clearly intends to spark controversy. But what gives Nasir Jones the right to declare that HIP HOP IS DEAD? For one Nas's 5-mic debut album ILLMATIC represents the best of a by-gone era. ...

$17.09 Tommy Martin is an Uilleann Piper hailing from Dublin, Ireland. He is currently located in the St. Louis, Missouri area of the USA. Tommy got his practice set when he was 12. Mick O'Brien arranged Dan O'Dowd and Johnny Bourke to make the practice set for Tommy. This started Tommy on weekly lessons under the guidance of Mick O'Brien for a while. As a 12 year old learning Uilleann Pipes, Tommy felt he was the only kid on the planet doing this. The appeal of TV and Football grew too tempting and the pipes were left under the bed for a while. Six month later curiousity got the better of him and the Uilleann pipes came out from under the bed. A phone call to Mick O'Brien was made and classes were arranged again. But it was different this time, there were other students. Ivan Goff had been taking lessons from Mick for a year or so, and Mick's youngest brother John was just about to start. With Mick's teaching and encouragement from John and intimidation from Ivan, Tommy got stuck in and never went back. By 1988, with the great help of Mick's tuition and guidance he won his first competition at the Annual Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann (traditional music competition festival), an event run by "Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann", (Literally, traditional musicians of Ireland). This organisation was founded in the 1950's to promote and foster Irish traditional music throughout the world as well as Ireland. His professional career started in 1996 when he took a job organising and playing at Irish music nights in Irish pubs in Hong Kong. This led to more work in Asian cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Singapore and Tokyo over the coming years. Back in Europe, Tommy's talent and experience took ...
