| | Cheryl Lescom High Heeled Blues CD Cheryl Lescom Discography of CDs
CHERYL LESCOM has been part of the Canadian Blues Scene for over 30 years. Starting off as a back up singer for Ronnie Hawkins and Long John Baldry, Cheryl has recorded, toured and performed with the likes of Jeff Healy, Matt Minglewood, Dutch Mason the Downchild Blues Band and more. After an absence to raise a family, Cheryl recorded two independent CD’s before taking some time off to recover from a bout with Cancer. HIGH HEELED BLUES is her first CD for flamingcheese records. The CD features 14 songs including “Queen Bee” written by Juno Award winner (and the CD’s producer and guitarist) Jack De Keyzer, “I Can’t Stand It” written by Mr. Downchild, Donnie Walsh (who guests on the CD) and “Beg Borrow Steal” written by Matt Minglewood. The first single “Heartache” features additional vocals by the Detroit Women and piano from Juno nominee Julian Fauth. As Hillary Clinton says “It takes a village to raise a child”. Well then I can say “it takes a village to make a CD”… and in this case, a WONDERFUL uplifting CD! Cheryl Lescom truly has a great talent and is now at the top of her game. Although she has been in the business for more than 30 years, High Heeled Blues is a beginning for Cheryl. Not a beginning in the traditional sense, but a beginning just the same. Cheryl has toured with many major recording artists and has paid her dues over the years. A couple of years ago, Cheryl was in the fight of her life (literally). She battled cancer with the energy and conviction that you will hear on this CD, and in true Lescom form, she not won the battle, but became a stronger more focused person determined to really live life to the fullest. Cheryl joined the flamingcheese family in 2005 to make a record that she would proud of. A lot of time went into the preparation of this CD; choosing Juno Award Winner Jack de Keyzer to produce, choosing the band and going through hundreds of songs to pick the best material. I hope you agree with me that the time was well spent. As you can see from the thank you’s the guest list below, Cheryl has some amazing friends in her village, and they will all continue to support her on her high heeled journey through life AND the blues!Dan GrahamFlamingcheese records Cheryl Lescom High Heeled Blues Songs | 1. | High Heeled Blues |

High Heeled Blues album
$6.75 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), to big-band jazz ("Harvey's Tune").
All the tunes make effective templates for the kind off-the-cuff music-making that in less capable hands might have resulted in simple noodling. In fact, although Bloomfield and Stills don't play together on any of the cuts (Bloomfield played on one side of the original LP, Stills on the other), all three principals get off lots of good licks and producer Kooper has some interesting tricks up his sleeve, as in the over-the-top ...
| | Eric Clapton E.C. Was Here CD (1975) Remastered
High Heeled Blues CD music
$6.49 On the original LP, the song "Drifting Blues" faded out after about 3 minutes. The CD contains the complete 11:31 version.
Released in the same year as 1975's THERE'S ONE IN EVERY CROWD, E.C. WAS HERE is a live album short on content but long in presentation. Backed by his usual mid-70's studio cohorts (George Terry, Jamie Oldaker, Yvonne Elliman, Marcy Levy, etc.), Clapton ignored his then-current material off CROWD and 461 OCEAN BOULEVARD, instead choosing to explore his immediate, post-Cream era along with some extended, old favorites. ...

High Heeled Blues songs
$17.19 Legendary delta bluesman Son House spoke about a passion for his music and was quoted as saying "I'm talkin’ 'bout the blues. . . I ain't talkin' 'bout monkey junk!" MonkeyJunk is a band that draws heavily on the legends of the blues and translates that influence into a contemporary blend of swamp R&B, soul boogie and bedroom funk. This triple threat trio comprised of Steve Marriner, Tony D and Matt Sobb draws on over 56 years of combined experience playing blues live and in studio . . . and it shows. In the fall of 2008, MonkeyJunk was nominated for a Maple Blues Award for best new artist - a rare feat only having been in exsistence for 6 months and not having released a record yet . . . In February 2009, MonkeyJunk represented Ottawa, Canada at The International Blues Challenge held in Memphis, TN competing ...

| | Blind Lemon Jefferson Complete Recorded Works Vol. 2 (1927) CD (1994)
High Heeled Blues music CDs
$13.25 Volume two of Document's near-complete recorded works of Blind Lemon Jefferson presents 22 sides waxed for Okeh and Paramount during a seven month period between March and October 1927. On tracks six, nine, and ten he is accompanied by pianist George Perkins, and this adds another dimension to an artist who was almost always heard by his lonesome. Lemon's adept handling of the guitar and his disarmingly expressive voice account for the fact that some folks fall in love with his distinctive sound after hearing him sing two or three tunes. For this reason, truly devoted listeners will regard three decidedly different versions of the "Match Box Blues" as a burst of good fortune rather than something esoteric intended only for musicologists. True to Lemon's multifaceted personality, this collection ...
