Female Blues: Remaining Titles 1922-1927 CD (1997)
Turn On The Heat: Hot Dance Band Sides 1925-1931 CD music In 1997 Document released a 24 track grab bag of rare female blues recordings from the 1920s, presented as a coda to the label's expansive series of "Female Blues Singers" compilations containing material dating exclusively from the years 1920 to 1930. In 1998 Document followed suit with a second volume of "Female Blues: the Remaining Titles," this time focusing on the years 1938-1949 to top off some of the company's blues, barrelhouse, swing, and early R&B collections. Document 1528 is a decidedly pungent sampler that combines the works of seven powerfully expressive women. Bea Foote, best known for her ostentatiously marijuana induced "Weed"; Lil Green, still one of the world's great overlooked heroines of the blues; Ruby Walker Smith, Bessie Smith's niece and traveling companion; Perline Ellison, Lillie Mae Kirkman, Muriel Nichols, and Monette Moore. In addition to those already mentioned, the instrumentalists heard on this excellent album include seasoned jazzmen like trumpeter Henry Red Allen, trombonist J. C. Higginbotham, pianist James P. Johnson, guitarists Big Bill Broonzy and Teddy Bunn, and drummer Big Sid Catlett.

True Love I Was Accident CD (2003)
Turn On The Heat: Hot Dance Band Sides 1925-1931 album for sale True Love's sophomore release and debut for No Lame Records, I Was Accident, features more of the band's sparkling power pop that plays like a split 7" between Elvis Costello and Cheap Trick. For fans of those bands this should be a good thing, even if at times the band seems somewhat overly indebted to their idols. It's as if they never got enough of Armed Forces and so set about to write a list of tunes that sound like unreleased Costello tracks circa 1979. That said, I Was Accident still contains some great songs including the beautiful power ballad "Throwing Back the Ring" and the raggedly melodic "The Genius." ~ Matt Collar
Sounding like the perfect concoction of Jellyfish vocal harmonies, pumping Elvis Costello and sweet crunchy Superdrag, True Love will appeal to all former as well as fans of Marvelous 3, The Posies and Fountains Of Wayne. Want 3-part harmonies? They are all over the place, as well as, big, big, big (did we say "big"?) swelling hooks mesh that stick to the songs like flypaper. A swaggering display of classic NYC styled rock with a sweet punchy center core. Utterly rawking!
Recorded at Pigeon Club, Hoboken, New Jersey.
Personnel: Keith Hartel (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Raymond S. Kubian (vocals, guitar, drums); Squirrel (vocals, guitar); Richard Lloyd (guitar); Craig Hoek (saxophone); Wayne Dorell (keyboards).
Audio Mixer: Wayne Dorell.
Recording information: Pigeon Club, Hoboken, NJ; Ray Kubian's Deck.

Michael Diamond Chroma Zone CD (2008)
Turn On The Heat: Hot Dance Band Sides 1925-1931 songs "Chroma Zone" is a collection of dreamy synthesizer soundscapes selected from the DVD "Illumination 2; a more than two hour journey of cosmic sights and sounds by award-winning visionary film maker Ken Jenkins, on which Michael Diamond composed an hour and ten minutes of the soundtrack.
While some of the music on the "Illumination 2" DVD comes from Michael's "Atlantis Rising" and "Indigo Moon" CD's, all of the selections included on "Chroma Zone" were chosen because they are previously un-released, and not heard on any of his other albums. In addition, the last two compositions on the album are bonus tracks that were written exclusively for this CD, making "Chroma Zone" a unique gallery of sonic artistry.
All the music and sound design was created and produced by Michael Diamond on keyboard synthesizers, guitar-synth, & E-bow guitar. While "Chroma Zone" features Michael's "lush luminous landscapes of sound", it differs from some of his other recordings in that it is totally ethereal with no grooves or rhythmic elements - perfect for a relaxing deep space voyage to inner galaxies.
"Chroma Zone" has been featured on "Hearts Of Space" as well as "Echoes", a nationally-syndicated radio program, where it is receiving weekly airplay.
Michael's first CD, "Atlantis Rising", which featured a special guest appearance by new age music pioneer, Steven Halpern, was hailed as "one of the best new releases of the year" by cdbaby , and recieved international critical acclaim. Listeners who enjoyed that CD, are sure to enjoy "Chroma Zone" as well. Give it a listen, and get in the Zone...
And speaking of entering the zone, Michael's "Drifting Deeper" CD is a musical score created for a clinically-based sleep program, and unfolds as a flow of gentle ocean waves and a subtle sonic tapestry designed to provide a peaceful background for drifting off to sleep.

This is good independent Hip Hop based on lyrical prowess, style, and flair by an MC influenced by Slick Rick as much as Dr. John. Punkles Pistol CD (2003)
Turn On The Heat: Hot Dance Band Sides 1925-1931 CD music Unlike Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, who perform covers that span the pop spectrum with a punk approach, the Punkles have been taking exclusive aim at the Beatles' back catalog since 1998. And the first shot fired on Pistol is "Magical Mystery Tour," which is delivered with a bombast akin to vintage Ramones. Operating on the credo that "All You Need Is Punk," Joey Lennon, Sid McCartney, Captain O'Harrison, and Markey Starkey pump up "Day Tripper," serving it at breakneck speed. Elsewhere, they stomp through Ringo Starr's signature number "With a Little Help From My Friends," and cook up rousing interpretations of "Hey Jude," "I Am the Walrus," "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," and "Get Back." Most innovative among these bastardized classics is the ska-inflected take on "Tomorrow Never Knows." Part tribute, part tongue-in-cheek, the Punkles don't just parody the Lennon and McCartney songbook, they breathe new life into it. ~ John D. Luerssen
German edition of 2003 album features 16 tracks including 1 bonus track, 'Tomorrow Never Knows', & 1 enhanced video track, 'Magical Mystery Tour'. Bitzcore. 2004.
Photographer: Stefan Malzkorn.
Personnel: Maureen Starkey (vocals, drums, background vocals).
