Tim Burton's beloved stop-motion-animation holiday horror returns from the grave in shocking 3-D. Originally released in 1993, its story concerns the residents of Halloween City, whose star performer, Jack (voiced by Chris Sarandon), is losing his enthusiasm for the big scare. While out wandering, he accidentally tumbles into Christmas Town, and he realizes he wants to switch holidays. His plan involves kidnapping Santa Claus, which sets in motion an array of plot twists and diabolical disasters. Danny Elfman composed the score and the musical numbers, and also dubs Jack‘s singing voice. Celebrity voices include Catherine O'Hara as Jack's paramour, Paul Reubens as Lock, and William Hickey as Dr. Finklestein.
Obviously an homage to the cartoons of Burton's childhood--from the Rankin bass puppetoon Christmas specials like YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS to 1930s Cab Calloway-scored Betty Boop cartoons--this is a labor of undying love. Burton and Co. toiled for years to make everything perfect; the pre-CGI miniature sets are packed with intricate, jaw-dropping detail, such as bustling skulls and crawling bugs, which seem to leap off the screen with the addition of 3-D. The process actually adds to the depth of the story and provides plenty of ghoulish jolts, and while it's rich with nightmarish imagery, the film is still safe for all but the youngest of the kiddies. Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D Reviews: "[The process] limns Selick's lapidary ghouls quite beautifully....NIGHTMARE has been resurrected in all its tactile glory." -- Grade: B+-- Scott Brown, Entertainment Weekly 4 stars out of 5 -- "[N]ever has the vivid imagination of Burton been so immersive."-- Jonathan Dean, Total Film 4 stars out of 5 -- "[A] charmer, with a mix of spooky styling and sugar-plum Yuletide fun. This 3-D release adds a few bells and whistles..."-- Helen O'Hara, Empire Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D | Orig Year | 2006 | | CD Universe Part number | 7329692 | | Release Date | New Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D TR release date | | Rating | PG (MPAA) | | Rating Reason | for some scary images. | | Also Known As | Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas in Disney Digital 3-D; Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D | | Running Time | 76 Minutes | | Movie Details | Color |

Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D film
$13.09 Director Robert Zemeckis revolutionized the art of animated film in 1998's WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT by dropping cartoon characters into the same frame with flesh-and-blood actors. In THE POLAR EXPRESS, live action and animation have merged seamlessly, resulting in sparkling super-realism. A landmark technique Zemeckis and his Sony Pictures Imageworks team call "Performance Capture" perfectly suits the tenor of this wondrous children's Christmas story by Chris Van Allsburg. A disillusioned little boy, just old enough to doubt the existence of Santa Claus, has the adventure of a lifetime one fateful Christmas Eve. Clad in his pajamas, he climbs aboard a magic train to the North Pole, driven by a kindly train conductor (voiced by Tom Hanks who starred in both of Zemeckis's Academy-Award winning ...

$12.97 With 2008's KUNG FU PANDA, the talking-animal CGI film enters a new era, one that makes room for both painterly artwork and fierce martial-arts action. Po (voiced by Jack Black), a clumsy and ever-hungry panda, is a huge kung fu fan, but seems destined to sell noodles like his father, Mr. Ping (James Hong), who inexplicably happens to be a goose. When Po literally crashes a ceremony involving martial-arts masters Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) and Oogway (Randall Duk Kim) and their pupils, the Furious Five--which includes Tigress (Angelina Jolie, in a surprisingly small part) and Crane (David Cross)--he ...

Establishing contact with Whoville's befuddled mayor (Steve Carell), Horton faces disbelief from his animal friends, including his blue mouse pal, Morton (Seth Rogen), and unwittingly incurs the wrath of an uptight kangaroo (Carol Burnett), setting the playful pachyderm on a journey to the most remote parts of Nool, with malicious vultures and monkeys not ...

Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D DVD

Kit is aware that the Great Depression is under way, but she feels lucky it hasn't directly touched her. While other people in the country struggle to find work and food, the 10-year-old plays comfortably in her tree house and writes articles she hopes will be published by the Cincinnati Register. But everything changes when Kit's dad (Chris O'Donnell) loses his job, forcing Kit and her mother (Julia Ormond) to turn their home into a boarding house while he goes to Chicago in search of work. As a colorful assortment of characters fill Kit's home, Kit learns how to be resourceful. When she gets to know a pair of child hobos, she realizes how kind and friendly homeless people can be. With her journalistic ...

Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D video
$13.59 Director David Wain (WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER) capably mixes the saucy and the sentimental in the bawdy boys-to-men comedy ROLE MODELS. Stuck-in-a-rut Danny Donahue (Paul Rudd) and womanizing man-child Wheeler (Seann William Scott) work together promoting Minotaur energy drink to high school students. But when Danny's girlfriend Beth (Elizabeth Banks) dumps him because he lacks maturity, his lashing out threatens to land him and Wheeler in jail. Their only way out is to act as mentors at Sturdy Wings, a Big Brother-esque organization run by reformed addict--and unrepentant flirt--Gayle Sweeny (Jane Lynch). There, Danny is paired with the decidedly dorky Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) while Wheeler is the latest victim to take on foul-mouthed Ronnie (Bobb'e J. Thompson). After a bumpy beginning, ...
