FOLK VIOLIN FROM PERUA wide range of Quechua-speaking people of Peru have incorporated the violin into their own musical culture. Indigenous violin styles have developed in isolated indigenous communities in the rural areas, where ritual and ceremonial music endures, while mestizo violin styles have developed in the larger Andean villages, consisting largely of dance music for public festivals.
