Powder Keg Logic album
$19.10 Whereas Alice Cooper's first two studio albums, 1969's PRETTIES FOR YOU and 1970's EASY ACTION, tended more towards the trippy excesses of the hippie era, their next one, 1971's LOVE IT TO DEATH introduced ...
| | Joe Walsh Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get CD (1973) Gold
Powder Keg Logic CD music
$19.10 "Rocky Mountain Way," the tune that opens Joe Walsh's sophomore release (and remains one of his best-known songs), is a textbook example of Walsh's strengths. The song is driven by a slinky hard rock groove that boasts crunchy, distorted guitars, barrelhouse piano, wiry solos, and a catchy, singalong chorus--proving Walsh's penchant for mixing rock elements and radio-ready ...
| | John Mayer Battle Studies CD (2009)
Powder Keg Logic music CDs
$12.95 It's no secret that John Mayer is a 21st Century Fox, wining and dining women all through tabloid headlines, so it's about time he delivered an album that traded upon his loverman persona -- and Battle Studies is that record in spades. Retaining more than a modicum of the slick, soul-blues undertones of Continuum, Mayer fashions a modern groove album, a record that maintains a smooth seductive vibe so thoroughly it spills into a one-man band cover of "Crossroads." Mayer remains somewhat of a disciple of Slowhand, but he shows an unusual interest in the big AOR stylings of Journeyman, along with Stevie Ray Vaughan's In Step, creating a coolly clean blend of synths and Strats, one that's as much about texture as it is about song.something perfectly appropriate for a make-out album like this. Sometimes, Mayer dips too heavily toward the texture, but he can't resist a good, tight melody and builds the bulk of Battle Studies upon them: the ...
| | The Very Best Of Enya CDs (2009) With DVD
Powder Keg Logic songs
$21.00 Comprised of 18 tracks culled from the singer/composer's first three decades, The Very Best of Enya was pieced together by the artist herself, along with longtime collaborators Nicky and Roma Ryan. Luckily, the trio seems enamored by most of the same songs that the general public is, resulting in one of those rare "greatest-hits" collections that goes deep without depriving the listener of the essentials. With tunes like "Orinoco Flow," "Caribbean Blue," and "Book of Days" in the pot and out of the way, it's easier to appreciate hidden gems like "Cursum Perficio," "Boadicea," "Trains and Winter Rains," and "Anywhere Is." Also notable is the inclusion of "May It Be" and a previously unreleased version of "Aníron (I Desire)," both of which originally appeared on the soundtrack for the first chapter of Peter Jackson's beloved Lord of the Rings trilogy. ~ James Christopher Monger

| | Blood of Heroes Original Soundtrack Blood Of Heroes CD (1989)
Powder Keg Logic songs
$9.89 An interesting percussive score for a 1989 science fiction film directed by David Peoples. Boekelheide's main basis for the score structure seems to have been an array of percussion samples created by abusing scrap metal in a basement. The string and brass elements of the score, providing an orchestral emphasis, are mainly there to fill in the musical picture, though there ...

Produced by Steve Wood "The dozen songs on "Far From the Real World" are suffused with a mature vision that comes from doing hard time in the real world. Only somebody who has stood on the peaks and fallen in the ditches, smelled the bouquets and been scratched by the thorns could make songs about relationships ring as true as Quealy does here." Mike Boehm, LA Times. In 1994, Jim was awarded Musician Magazine's "Best Unsigned Artist." Soon after, Jim decided to record an album and do some live shows.
