Integrale Barclay album
$13.39 Pink Martini follow the around-the-world-in-a-dozen-songs thrills of HEY EUGENE! with SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS, a mellower, simpler set of small pleasures. These are relative terms, however; the group's music is still well-traveled, with China Forbes singing in five languages (English, Spanish, Neapolitan, French, and Italian) instead of the six or so on EUGENE!. However, Pink Martini opt for a more unified sound here, one that draws on the more straightforward lounge-pop of their debut, SYMPATHIQUE, and the mellowness of '60s and '70s ...

Integrale Barclay songs
$11.19 MACARTHUR PARK goes beyond the famous hit title track to explore the recorded work of stage and screen actor Richard Harris, including his versions of "Paper Chase" and "Name Of My Sorrow."
This CD reissue from England is almost (but not quite) identical to Raven Records' Richard Harris: The Webb Sessions 1968-69 from Australia, combining the contents of the albums A Tramp Shining and The Yard Went on Forever. The difference is the absence of the last Richard Harris-Jimmy Webb collaboration, "One of the Nicer Things," which appeared as a free-standing single in 1969. Alan Hodgson's annotation is slightly less informative than the notes by Jimmy Webb on the Raven CD. On the other hand, this disc is also about $3-$5 cheaper, so budget-minded fans may appreciate it. As for the sound, it is superior to any of the LP versions of A Tramp Shining, with Webb's reliance on stereo separation for important timbral effects coming through bright and sharp throughout -- a small, muted ...

Integrale Barclay music CDs
$22.25 Recorded live in Yugoslavia in 1951. Includes liner notes by Albert Lord, Ankica Petrovic & Rajna Klaser.
In 1951, at a festival for the Yugoslav Council for Science and Culture, Peter Kennedy ran around from stage to stage with a tape recorder collecting sounds from a variety of regional ensembles. Put on at the height of an effort to forge a homogenous Yugoslavian identity from the country's disparate folk arts, the festival brought together a kaleidoscopic variety of groups from such regions as Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia, and Serbia. The fruits of Peter Kennedy's diligent recording efforts are presented here, on World Library of Folk & Primitive Music, Vol. 5: Yugoslavia. This two-CD set includes 61 songs and a set of detailed liner notes. Originally published in 1954 ...

Integrale Barclay songs
$15.25 A quick survey of the track listing of Warner Music Latina's Chill: Brazil collection is sure you make you salivate if you're into Brazilian music, especially any kind with a bossa nova slant. Marcos Valle, Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Bebel Gilberto, Joao Gilberto, Os Cariocas, Elis Regina, Jorge Ben, Banda Black Rio -- these are just some of the most-recognizable names, not to mention many of the others present here who may not be overly familiar to anyone not knee-deep into the many wonders of Brazilian music. And too, these artists are represented by standout recordings, not cheaply licensed latter-day efforts or anything else even mildly disappointing. So does Chill: Brazil play like a greatest-hits of Brazil collection? Well, kinda -- the music here is certainly top-shelf Brazilian music of the late ...
