| | Hall & Oates Private Eyes CD - Import Hall & Oates Discography of CDs
On VOICES, Hall and Oates worked toward a fusion of their doo-wop and soul roots with New Wave energy and hard rock grit. On PRIVATE EYES, they perfected it, and the result was a pop classic that's one of the best albums of the '80s. Three of the tracks here were obvious hits--the title song, which features the best handclaps since the Zombies "Tell Her No", "I Can't Go For That" and "Did It In a Minute"--but just about everything else is tuneful and beautifully crafted. Standouts include "Looking For a Good Sign," a gorgeous reworking of the Temptations' "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," and "Friday Let Me Down," a reply to the Easybeats' "Friday On My Mind."
24bit digitally remastered Japanese limited edition issue of the album classic in a deluxe, miniaturized LP sleeve replica of the original vinyl album artwork. | | Led Zeppelin Song Remains The Same CDs (1976) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Deluxe Edition
Private Eyes music CDs
$16.35 Back in the seventies, it seemed that every rock band needed to have a live concert film to commemorate their triumphant treks across America. Led Zeppelin were no exception and THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME is a chronicle of Led Zeppelin on tour. Although the uninspired visual aspects of the film fail to capture the power of Led Zeppelin at their mid-seventies peak, the album manages to convey their live prowess. The twenty-six minute, hypnotic version of "Dazed and Confused" works much better here than in the film, where movie patrons would head to the concession stand ten minutes into the song. "Whole Lotta Love" gets a similar extended treatment and the results are equally impressive.
THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME also lets you hear that songs like "Stairway To Heaven" sound wonderful even without the benefit of studio overdubs. Though not perfect, this is an honest documentation of the Led Zeppelin live experience, serving as a reminder that beneath the larger-than-life myths that surrounded the group, Led Zeppelin were simply a powerful blues-influenced rock band who lived for their music.
Commonly dismissed as a disappointment upon its initial release, the soundtrack to Led Zeppelin's concert movie The Song Remains the Same is one of those '70s records that has aged better than its reputation -- it's the kind of thing that's more valuable as the ...
| | Radiohead In Rainbows CD
Private Eyes songs
$10.69 Initially issued in October 2007 with little prior notice, Radiohead's seventh full-length studio outing, IN RAINBOWS, took not only fans but the entire music industry by surprise. Released for a limited time only as an online download, the album was offered by the revered British rock group in a groundbreaking "pay what you want" format, allowing the listener to decide its digital value before an appearance in conventional CD form a few months later.
Innovative business practices aside, IN RAINBOWS also garnered attention as Radiohead's most immediately engaging offering since its BENDS/OK COMPUTER days, returning to slightly more accessible ...
| | Black Sabbath Paranoid CDs (1971) (Import) Bonus CD; Bonus DVD; Advd; Deluxe Edition; United Kingdom
Private Eyes album
$31.89 PARANOID proved to be Black Sabbath's most focused, consistent, and successful record. Leaving behind the amorphous, extended jams of their debut for focused songs and a more structured sound, Black Sabbath virtually wrote the book on heavy metal with the ominous, unforgettable riffs, thunderous rhythms, and dark themes on this release. There are some up-tempo rockers, the famous title track for one, but for the most part PARANOID oozes along like a bad dream, as on the slinky, creepy opener, "War Pigs," or the lumbering thud of "Iron Man" (which boasts one of the most indelible electric guitar riffs in rock history).
2009 digitally remastered and expanded deluxe three CD edition of the classic sophomore album from the Heavy Metal kingpins led by Ozzy Osbourne. Originally released in 1970, Paranoid still stands as an important milestone in the history of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. This ultimate edition features a beautifully remastered version of the album, an alternate version of the album including instrumental mixes, alternate recordings ...
| | Music From Original Soundtrack & More Woodstock Woodstock: Music From The Original Soundtrack And More CDs (1970)
Private Eyes CD music
$18.59 Officially it was "Music from the Original Soundtrack [of Michael Wadleigh's documentary feature film Woodstock] And More," but the triple-LP (later double-CD) Woodstock was really rock's first "coffee table" album. Bought by millions but not really listened to that often, it's amid a flood of wrong notes and the inherent flaws in recording live in front of hundreds of thousands of people in a temporary, makeshift venue. It was more satisfying for journalists and scholars than for ordinary listeners, what with its artists represented by one or two tracks and no more than 15 minutes of music by any single performer. But it did sell in the millions (and yielded a follow-up, Woodstock 2), fueled by the mystique surrounding the event and the release of the accompanying movie, and at times it did have a certain amount of energy to help ...

Perhaps the definitive live document of the original Fleetwood Mac, LIVE AT THE BOSTON TEA PARTY was recorded at a crucial point in the band's history. By 1970, Fleetwood Mac (the blues-based, Peter Green-led version, not the later pop aggregation) had achieved fame both in their native U.K. and in the U.S., and their pioneering blues-rock was beginning to be influenced by American groups like the Grateful Dead (as evidenced by the extended jams on BOSTON TEA PARTY). They were also about to fall apart, as Green was headed towards a mental breakdown and eventual abandonment of his group. This three-volume series, then, could be seen as something of a swan song.
The San Francisco shadings of the opener "World In Harmony" are further proof of the aforementioned Dead influence; the tune is a departure from the more traditional blues-orientation of the group's early material. "Oh Well," one of the original Mac's best-known tunes, is presented here in a blazing version that showcases the band's guitar firepower. Two Elmore James covers, "Stranger Blues" and "Red Hot ...
| | Kanye West Late Registration CD (2005) Edited
Private Eyes album
$12.55 Throughout the album, West merely continues to perfect his craft, slowing tracks down and speeding them up into an awe-inspiring mosaic. While his MC style is often discounted as being of secondary importance, he shines when put up against the best in the game, as with Common on the bluesy "My Way Home" or Nas on the lush "We Major." And in the spirit of Bob Dylan, West knows how to make the most of a very original voice. LATE REGISTRATION is ample proof of West's staying power.
Rapper/producer Kanye West's second album, LATE REGISTRATION, incredibly lives up to expectations following his universally acclaimed debut, THE COLLEGE DROPOUT, which took the art of sampling to a new plateau. Here, for example, "Gold Digger" features a sample of the legendary Ray Charles alongside actor Jamie Foxx in Oscar-reprising character as Charles. "Addiction" pairs a frenetic African beat with a stuttering, singular use of ...
