| | Ultramagnetic MC's Best Kept Secret CD Ultramagnetic MC's Discography of CDs
In the 13 years since the last official studio release from the Ultramagnetic MCs, frontman Kool Keith went through countless aliases, side projects, and tenuous industry alliances, while his former partners, Ced Gee, TR, and Moe Luv largely played the low. With the release of 2007's THE BEST KEPT SECRET, the man once primarily known as Rhythm X is back with his original crew. From track one on it's clear that former mental patient Keith is still as strong as ever, coming with that same grandiose Ego Trippin' imagery that made him infamous, while Ced Gee balances with equally forceful hustler/porn star posturing. With 14 tracks produced by the group, THE BEST KEPT SECRET is the welcome return of the Ultramag's classic space cadet sound.
Additional personnel: Goody-2, Gee-Banga.

Best Kept Secret album
$14.29 K-Rino Is the founder of the S.P.C. He started rappin' in 1983 and released his 1st record as a member of a group called "Real Chill" in 1986. This record was the 1st record to drop from a South Park artist. "Real Chill" was one of the two groups in Houston to ever drop a rap record in the city. In 1987 he formed the "South Park Coalition" which is a collection of the hardest rappers from the South Park neighborhood of Houston, TX. Since then he has released another group project called C.O.D. with Fellow S.P.C. member Dope-E, and 5 solo projects; "Stories from the Black Book", "Danger Zone", "K-Rino", "No Mercy" and "Ten Year Run". | | Geto Boys Foundation CD (2005)
Best Kept Secret CD music
$15.05 2005's THE FOUNDATION marks the return of Houston, TX kings of controversy the Geto Boys, and reunites all three longstanding members--Scarface, Willie D., and Bushwick Bill--after nearly a decade. The record stays true to the complex, conflicted, horror-drenched world the trio conjured up in its early days, with the music recalling the group's heyday of stark albums such as WE CAN'T BE STOPPED. There's a wisdom in the Geto Boys sticking to beats virtually unaltered since the late1980s; considering that their style informed most of the sounds coming out of the South in the early 2000s, it comes across as more princely than dated.

| | Big Head Todd & The Monsters Midnight Radio CD (1991)
Best Kept Secret CD music
$14.19 Midnight Radio is Big Head Todd & the Monsters' second indie album. The group was inspired by listening to board tapes of their live shows and decided to record their second album at concerts. Midnight Radio is not a live album as much as it is a record that captures the band in their element. It ended up in Top Ten lists for many national publications, before the band signed a record contract. The two-track live recording created a wonderful ambience, which is much different than the band's major label debut, the gold Sister Sweetly. Though Sister Sweetly is the better sounding album, Midnight Radio is often considered the band's best by many Big Head Todd & the Monsters fans. Song highlites include the original version of "Bittersweet," which was re-recorded for their debut and is the band's most popular song. "Vincent of Jersey" is the one-minute solo song that opens the album. Despite its brevity, it is one of the album's better songs. "Midnight Radio" is also a strong song, with vocals similar to Mark Knopfler and blazing guitar solos. This album prioritizes Todd Park Mohr's ...

Best Kept Secret album
$7.69 Recorded between 1970 & 1989. Includes liner notes by Michael Hill.
Dionne Warwick signed to Arista in 1979. Her silky voice and smooth style were still very much intact and much in-demand among adult contemporary listeners. Her first song for her new label, "I'll Never Love This Way Again," was co-produced by new pal Barry Manilow and hit number one on the adult contemporary charts. Her next single, "Déjà Vu," did even better -- as well as topping the adult contemporary chart, it hit number 20 on the pop chart. Both songs ended up winning ...

| | Bel Airs Got Love CD (2005)
Best Kept Secret songs
$10.69 Got Love is another solid, soulful blues effort from Missouri's own Bel Airs, driven by bassist Dick Pruitt's weathered vocals and brother Dave Pruitt's no-frills, efficient guitar work. The trio (Michael Cherry, formerly of the Paladins, is the drummer) doesn't reach for the stars here, but works out of familiar territory, dropping a couple of originals into a mix of modern blues and early rock & roll covers. Among the highlights are a moving version of the Tams' "What Kind of Fool," the strong rhythmic playing of Michael Cherry on Willie Dixon's "Just You and I" (which also features a guest appearance by Joe Terry on piano), and a stripped-down, acoustic rendition of Isaiah "Doctor" Ross' adaptation of "Going to the River," which allows Dave Pruitt to dust off his fine slide guitar skills. Again, Got Love doesn't try to stretch any boundaries, but Dick Pruitt's soulful singing gives the Bel Airs a lot of presence, and the "just the facts, ma'am" approach ...
