Standard Screen; Soundtrack English Rapper Dr. Dre has proved himself as good a producer and director as he is a rhymer. The quietly menacing, wonderfully smooth gangsta rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg was Dre's first major prodigy, and has proven himself worthy of his own massive success. MURDER WAS THE CASE is a long-form video (or more accurately, a short film) which goes along with Snoop's eponymous song "Murder Was the Case". Directed by Dr. Dre, it conjures up resonant images of life on the street and as a young gangsta. Also included is the director's cut version of Dr. Dre and Ice Cube's "Natural Born Killaz" as well as three other uncensored music videos from Snoop ("Gin & Juice," "Who Am I (What's My Name)," and "Doggy Dogg World"). Tracks include:

Murder Was The Case video
$7.05 Pierce Brosnan stars as the anti-Bond in maverick director John Boorman's adaptation of legendary spy novelist John le Carre's seamy tour of post-Noriega Panama. A British intelligence agent whose taste for gambling and other men's wives has put him on the wrong side of his bosses at MI6, Andy Osnard (Brosnan) is posted to the backwater of Panama to atone for his sins. To that end, he recruits upscale tailor Harry Pendel (Geoffrey Rush), leveraging the man's financial problems and questionable past to gain access to information about the activities of his elite clientele. Meanwhile, Osnard remains true to form, recruiting the personal services of lovely embassy official Francesca (Catherine McCormack), and attempting the same with Harry's wife, Louisa (Jamie Lee Curtis). When Harry's best friend Micki (Brendan Gleeson), a former member of the anti-Noriega underground, now a broken man, begins blustering about politics in front of Osnard, both of these con men begin to see him as the solution to their problems. The mundane tragedy of espionage familiar to le Carre's Cold Warriors has been replaced by farce with ...

Murder Was The Case review
$10.09 Steven Spielberg's EMPIRE OF THE SUN, based on the autobiographical novel by J.G. Ballard, stars Christian Bale as Jim Graham, a British schoolboy separated from his upper-class colonial parents when the Japanese sweep into Shanghai during World War II. Temporarily orphaned, Jim attaches himself to Basie (John Malkovich), a fast-talking American opportunist determined make a buck off the spoils of war. Later, when the two are interned in a prison camp, Jim's boyish fantasies are fueled by the grace and daring of the Japanese fighter pilots whom he comes to idolize despite their enemy status. Spielberg's visually spectacular wartime epic is a testimony to the human will to survive and a child's ability to find wonder even in the midst of horror. Thirteen-year-old Welsh actor Christian Bale is brillant as Jim in his feature film debut. Spielberg himself identified more with Jim, a boy who is obsessed with flying and who experiences ...
