Into being: The roots of Enowning can be traced to the early fall of 2005. Prior to the bands formation all members had crossed paths at one point or another within the University of Wisconsin La Crosse’s music department. Each member is attending the university as a music major. However, the real connection came in November 2005 when Eric Streske and Jourdan Hines met in a piano class. It was not long until both musicians realized a striking similarity in musical taste. Right away they knew they had something special. Jourdan presented his original compositions that functioned as a chordal and melodic foundation, which then Eric enhanced with his unique guitar riffs and captivating solos. Shortly thereafter Alex Grech was added. Eric had known Alex since high school having played together in various jazz bands throughout the years. This planted a seed that would later help in developing the chemistry of Enowning. Don Hokanson was the final member of Enowning, bringing his progressive rock flavor on the bass guitar. From this, Enowning came into being.Enowning in the now: After wowing crowds in the La Crosse area with their new and innovated musical style, Enowning knows that they can make an impact with their music. Their music can be described as thought provoking pop rock with thick harmonies. They just released their first EP titled "The Dream." Enowning is working towards expanding from their roots as a local band into the Midwest region. It's no secret that one of the most powerful weapons in Zappa's arsenal was his sense of humor, which was at its height in live performance. Consequently, there's no better way to get a feel for the full scope of Zappa's music than on the live ROXY & ELSEWHERE. This set finds Frank at his mid-'70s peak, working with Ruth Underwood, Don Preston, George Duke, etc. While all the tunes are technically ...

| | Lushus Red Blushes CD (2006)
Dream
$12.69 Lushus is a dutch hard to describe band . The best way to describe them is to listen to their own words:Poetry, music, painting, drawing, performances etc. are an expression of art. They all have there own identity, one you express with words the other with material and the next with sound. But at the end they serve the same purpose. I think that the need to make art (music) starts if you have a feeling of lack or a sort of "weltschmerz".It’s the will to capture this lack or feeling of pain, to find a solution for it so ...
| | Jemo Oaks With Rushes CD (2006)
Dream
$10.15 After years in the scene, JEMO has become a complete and awesome live experience, fueled by the artistic talents, passions, and joys of Toronto musicians Jeff Dantowitz, James Bastable, and Micheal Beauclerc.Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jeff Dantowitz incorporated his poems and experiments into the seven songs on the first JEMO album, released in 2001. It is currently in rotation on several radio stations in North America, and reached "heavy rotation" on two US college radio stations: WRSU in New Jersey, and WUEV in Indiana. After interviews and frequent play on CIUT and CJAM, JEMO's first release earned respect as a consummate piece of indie experimentation.Over the course of five years, playing intense and awesome live shows at legendary Toronto venues like Sneaky Dee's, Holy Joe's, and the Free Times Cafe, or on the streets of Ottawa's WestFest, the JEMO reputation for passionate live shows became evermore exceeding. LABEL RECORDS recognized the talent and potential, and stepped into the picture in 2005. JEMO is now proud to work with the Canadian label to produce as much beautiful sound and meaningful music as possible. After releasing "The Six-Fingered Salmagundi" in 2005, a live album recorded at Toronto's Renaissance Cafe, Jeff Dantowitz went into the studio with bassist James Bastable (formerly The Daybreak/October) and Yamaha-sponsored drummer Michael Beauclerc. The result is "Oaks With Rushes"... JEMO's most pleasing and accessible album to date.In July 2006, JEMO toured Eastern Canada to support this new blend of exotic sounds and infectious rhythms. The album is already receiving comparisons to the pitch of Radiohead, Ben Harper, The Dave Matthews Band, David Gray, Jeff Buckley. In the past year, JEMO has taken their energy and music to some of Toronto's biggest stages: the Lula Lounge and Lee's Palace. What is JEMO? JEMO is a mesmerizing blend of musical poetry, an aggressive acoustic alternative... Idolizing the glorious careers of bands like U2 and Pink Floyd, JEMO approaches the alternative rock genre with healthy abandon: pushing and pulling the boundaries of expression. Sincere, meaningful, groovy music: one true song after another.Quotes about JEMO:"Jemo is able to maintain the listener's attention through sheer emotion ...
| | Jesikah Saetara No Voice CD (2007)
Dream
$13.15 Jesikah Saetara was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Arts began early with a background in piano, dance and voice, but it was pots and pans that were her first instruments according to her parents.. "those and the bathtub.." and the violin by age 9. "I loved the violin till my Mom got a piano, then I had to choose. It was cool though because my babysitter was an accomplished player and taught me stuff when she was over. I ended up taking piano lessons from the same teacher. I took piano lessons for seven years and before I knew it I was in my first band."By 21 Jesikah was backing up a locally successful and signed artist. "I was really lucky back then to have known a lot of those people - they were older and smarter than I was and I learned so much in a short amount of time. They knocked the kinks out of me, shaped me up and put me out there."Jesikah spent 15 yrs. in local rock and dance bands such as 'Jordan's Crossing', 'Gradual Taylor', 'Jealous Bone' and used down time to apprentice at Ligosa, a local recording studio where she honed her own engineering and recording skills by observing some of the industry’s best: "Jerry Lane, Ashley Shepherd and Mark Liggett... now THAT’S a trio.." After a few years on the road in the show band 'Funkytown' Jesikah hung up her dancing shoes and dropped anchor with her own recording studio. Early success in jingles and novelty songs led to the opening of her publishing company White Magic Music with a label to follow a couple of years later. ‘No Voice’ represents that label’s first release. “Inspiration and intuition are my tools... I wanted to merge my interests, consolidate my talents for a unique musical experience. I wanted to balance mind, body and spirit..that place where anything is possible to create something really personal and unique. I know that sounds cliche but it's true. I could care less about sounding conventional or predictable. I enjoy the element of suprise. If I need conventional I'll produce it for someone else. I'm focused on making music in the industry that can bring about change. Inner change that brings about outter change. I want to provoke conversation. Emotion. Connection. Attention. Realisation that we're all responsible. One of the greatest things about being an artist is the creativity ...
