Contemporary, vocal led synth dance/pop with an 80’s influence. Wistful yet uplifting….Since our last album we have concentrated on a more upbeat dance/synth pop approach, whilst maintaining our trademark melodic, sometimes dark, melancholic sound. The album kicks off with ‘Hold Me’ and ‘Bad Weather’, both of which are simple, direct pop songs with catchy choruses and strong vocal harmonies. Other songs take in 80’s pop, dance and more downbeat/chillout styles. As usual we like to offer you, the listener, a varied and absorbing listening experience! | | Stone Coyotes Rise From The Ashes CD (2003)
Different View songs
$12.65 "House of Confusion" has a bed of sparse rockabilly guitar under the distinctive voice of Barbara Keith to open 2003's Rise from the Ashes, another good collection of tunes from the Tibbles family of Western Massachusetts. With references to Marc Bolan's "20th Century Boy" one can hear the retro T. Rex riff taking center stage, kind of like Bolan doing battle with Robert Gordon and the Stray Cats. The vocal rap is mellow, oozing over the rugged '50s guitar line and the resulting product is as intriguing as "Rock Harder Than You," another gritty composition that producers Chinn & Chapman would no doubt love to get their hands on. With an off-gold phoenix proudly on the cover and an elegant 16-page booklet of lyrics inside, Keith, with some help from husband/drummer Doug Tibbles, composes all 13 titles, in the style the fans have come to expect from this eclectic trio. It's the ballads on this disc, though, that really stand out, and the authoritative "The Sailor's Song" with its graceful tones proves that point. Keith is a master of melancholy melody and her descriptive words glide along the accompaniment with her trademark ardor. It's a great song topped only by the final track, "Adriana," a tremendous narrative in the vein of "Free the People," though without the gospel. The former vocalist from Boston area band Kangaroo with John Hall could be speaking of herself in "The Phoenix" with its "wings of gold" hook; and where Tracy Chapman will engage the audience by "Telling Stories" with large production, the Stone Coyotes team keep it simple letting Mama Tibbles multi-track her voice on a tune that Linda Ronstadt could easily launch into the ...

Different View songs
$11.49 When Greg Walton was in 5th grade he begged his parents to buy him a guitar so he could imitate the art of such musical influences as The Beatles, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac and others. He was a quick study, but soon found that his real passion for music came from the progressive ministry that was coming from his church. His participation in the junior youth choir and his deep reflection on the Bible prompted his interest in music evangelization and a stronger commitment to his Catholic beliefs. After his attendance at a weekend retreat he wrote his first song, "New Day's Gonna Shine" (when he was just 15 years old) and realized he was being called for a commissioning in his life: a life that would be devoted to service to others and a servant to God.Although Greg Walton remains steadfast in his dedication to ministry, he has never given up on his pursuit of excellence in his music. Performance opportunities throughout his career have taken him all over the United States, Canada and Europe. He has performed at hundreds of youth rallies, LIFETEEN events, dozens of festivals and evangelical events, and some of the worlds largest gatherings including World Youth Day, Creation Festival, NCYC, Kingdom Bound and others. Greg has shared the stage with celebrated artists including PolarBoy, Ceili Rain, DC Talk, Newsboys and others. His music has been distributed by Spring Arbor Music, HeartBeat Distribution, Troubadour for the Lord and most recently, SpiritandSong Records/OCP. In 2001, he also became a World Vision artist- which is still an important charitable partnership to him today. In the midst of a hectic touring schedule, the constant changes in the music industry and the events following the terrorist attacks on September 11th, Greg Walton bonded to the message of a Tom Petty tune called "I Wont Back Down". Greg did a cover version of this song on his third (and ...

$20.29 This music is a soundtrack excerpted from the multimedia program, The Grand Design, which chronicles the fate of a group of Scots-Irish Presbyterians who set out for Philadelphia in 1741, only to have their ship disabled by a storm. They stranded on Grand Manan Island in the Bay of Fundy, where they were abandoned by a scoundrel captain. Rescued by Passamaquoddy Indians, the survivors were brought to Colonial St. George and Pemaquid in Maine. Blending Irish music of the era with traditional Passamaquoddy songs and original songs played on traditional instruments Castlebay creates a musical documentary of early Ulster Scots emigration to New England.Celtic Harp & vocals - Julia LaneWoodwinds, viola, violin, vocals - Fred GosbeeFiddle - Tamora GoltzCello - Doreen ConboyPercussion, bagpipes - Jim StewartIndian chant, drum - John Bear MitchellChorus - Claire Curtis, Alan DavisVocalists - John Strong, Carl JohansonThe First RunThe Grand Design, produced by the Heartwood Regional Theater Company and Castlebay, opened on May 11, 2007 to a sold out house at the Parker Poe Theater in Newcastle, Maine. Your cast was outstanding, too - we were particularly taken by the two principal young women, the captain, John Bear Mitchell and "Mr Gamble" [Carl Johanson] and his lovely voice. Congratulations on a fantastic production! Love to you both Anneke GichuruDirector, Grand Manan MuseumHow proud you must be feeling! ...

$11.59 At first glance, the comedy duo Red State Update may look like a Blue Collar Comedy Tour ripoff, but they're the darlings of progressive online magazine Salon.com and on the buddy list of "those liberal nonproliferationists" CNN. Thanks to their video submission, it was on said cable news network that young bumpkin Dunlap (played by Jonathan Shockley) and the overalled, Uncle Jesse-esque Jackie Broyles (Travis Harmon) got to ask the Democratic presidential hopefuls about Al Gore, drawing a tongue-in-cheek insult from Joe Biden plus an appearance from Mike Gravel on their YouTube channel. A series of videos posted to the video-sharing site earned the two a sizable following, so it isn't much of a surprise ...
