$8.75 At this stage of her career Mariah Carey does not need to prove herself, but her voice is so powerful that with each new recording she, once again, reminds you: "Listen to what I can do." Vocal gymnastics and Christmas songs are not often thought of as a compatible combination, but on ...
| | Rammstein Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da CDs (2009) Bonus Tracks; Deluxe Edition; Digipak
Carnival Of Souls album
$17.79 Anyone familiar with the industrial-metal band's dark sense of irony should take one look at the title of Rammstein's 2009 album LIEBE IST FUR ALLE DA ("Love Is There For Everyone") and conclude that this one is a mean monster. Combining the tightness and punch of their 1998 album SEHNSUCHT with the musicianship and elaborate textures of their later work, LIEBE ...
| | Lady Gaga Fame Monster CDs (2009) Deluxe Edition
Carnival Of Souls CD music
$16.44 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a galvanized ...
| | Harry Nilsson Point! CD (1970) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Deluxe Edition; SDTK
Carnival Of Souls music CDs
$8.99 This reissue features original comic book story and cover art.
In 1970, Harry Nilsson's THE POINT appeared. It arrived as both an animated television special and this soundtrack. The album alternates seven warm and sprightly songs with seven bits of narration (also by Nilsson), which together present Nilsson's delightful little fable. However, the songs do stand perfectly well on their own. "Me and My Arrow" was a hit at the time, and found its way into people's consciousness again in the '80s when it was used in a car commercial. The story's themes are universal and the songs and their arrangements are catchy to children without being cloying to adults. "Think About Your Troubles" sports a confident vocal that melds the blues with Broadway. The orchestrations throughout the entire album (arranged and conducted by George Tipton) are supple, supportive, and slyly inventive.

| | Leslie Nuss Round 3 CD (2006)
Carnival Of Souls album
$9.85 This is the 4th CD from Leslie Nuss. The concept for Round 3 originated in 2002 on Ave. A when Leslie took out her (then) fake front tooth to scare/amuse a friend and they both decided that a good halloween costume would be to go as a boxer and show off the missing tooth. However, as we all know, the use of boxing as a metaphor has gotten out of control. Nonetheless, the album title stuck. Inside the cd, there is a collage, made by Nuss on "the nature of conflict" as she puts it. There are images of her old band, Dogwater, butterflies, animals, and text from one of the many letters her dad used to send her which were critical of her music. The making of the CD took close to three years. Nuss won a free day at Gravity Studios in Chicago, and began work with a producer, bassist John Abbey, whom she knew from his work with David Poe. Nuss, Abbey and Mike Zelenko (former drummer for Chicago influential band Material Issue) recorded the basic tracks live at Gravity in December, 2003. However, due to "artistic differences" Abbey soon left the project and Nuss brought in long time friend Anne-Marie Stehn (Maul Girls, Youngster, Antigone Rising) to recut the bass tracks. Nuss's guitar got sent back to Taylor guitars for some revamping she suffered from carpal tunnel syndrome and took a job starting a belt line for the boot company Ariat, all things that slowed down the making of this cd.Mark Berlin, her engineer at Gravity (guitarist for Sally) stayed the course and helped see this project through to the end. They enlisted Dan Wean (Easy Tiger) for additional guitar, Christian Cullen (onetime keyboardist for Cathy Richardson) and Rahul Sharma (sitarist for World Music band Funkadesi) to complete tracks, as well as additional production input from Michael Freeman. The cd starts off with a cover of "Eye of the Tiger" that Nuss and Action Hero Superstar producer Kyle Kelso originally did for indie film "The End of the Bar" starring former Howard Stern girlfriend Beth Ostrosky. ...

| | Michael Patrick Phelan In The Meantime CD (2007)
Carnival Of Souls music CDs
$8.39 If you like your music with a pensive after-taste, you'll love Mike’s savory sound. Michael Patrick Phelan's mellow and soulful songwriting style pays tribute to the heyday of the 1970's singer-songwriter boom while firmly establishing him as a unique artist in today’s adult-alternative scene. He's got a voice that's equal parts Harry Connick Jr. and James Taylor and piano skills that marry the styles of Bruce Hornsby, Sarah McLaughlin, with sprinklings of Diana Krall. His songs, while written from a personal perspective, touch on universal themes: love, loneliness, growing up, family, and the many ups and downs of living day to day. Many listeners often comment that while they had never met Michael prior to seeing him perform, they felt as though he had written the songs specifically for them. “When I first entered I thought I was hearing a recording of some new jazz vocalist—the next male version of Diana Krall or Jane Monheit. But there was Phelan, in the back corner of the bar, playing with feeling and a remarkably welcome, restrained touch,” ...
