REVIEW FROM PUNKNEWS.ORG Haunted Life/Make or Break ReviewWhat..s better than one good hardcore band on a CD? Why, two good hardcore bands on one CD! Such is the case with the split from Florida..s Make or Break and Chicago..s Haunted Life. Both bring a similar youth crew revival sound to the table, but with plenty of energy provided by both, it..s not something I could possibly complain about. The first half of the split belongs to the fivesome from the shores of Lake Michigan, and their sound is a furious one, full of bass-driven grooves and rousing gang vocals. Not too many to where it would become cliché, but enough to give a song that may be lagging that little extra boost and kick in the ass that it may need. Generally speaking however, it..s not an issue. Not a single one of Haunted Life..s songs break the two-minute mark, instead opting for a hit ..em hard and hit ..em fast approach that..s far more their style. ..Who Wins?.. begins with one of those thick bass intros that I mentioned earlier, and for the entire duration of the song, doesn..t stop hitting. The band's vocalist sounds positively incensed, and that anger propels things through the biting riffs and pounding drums. ..For Maya.. goes the opposite route and starts out raging, being carried though by some terrific chord progressions and those same angry, ever present vocals.Make or Break takes a bit different of a hardcore approach. Certainly not a bad one, just a bit of a change of pace.Though it seems an odd happening, the Florida four-piece actually manages to be quicker than Haunted Life, but scale back a bit on the intensity. The vocals, while intense, are more clearly understood and not quite as in your face. The gang vocals, though present, are much less full, instead the band opting for quick bursts of hardcore punk. The songs are shorter, the vocals more precisely delivered, the guitars straight and to the point. Songs like ..Heard It Before,.. though aggressive enough, lack a bit of the replay value that Haunted Life brought to the table, if only because things bleed together a bit.Regardless of what are in effect minor criticisms that I have about either band, both do present four solid and separate songs for this split, and at only thirteen minutes, it doesn..t give the opportunity to grow stale. Short, fast, and in your face -- game, set, match.-PUNKNEWS.ORG11:39 AM - 0 Comments - 0 Kudo Split Music | List Price | $9.00 (You save $1.81) | | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs | | Label | CD Baby | | CD Universe Part number | 7339744 | | Catalog number | 109894 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Oct 31, 2006 |

$16.45 Romantic, sexy, sensitive are just a few of the adjectives that describe E'Andre's music. Confidently branding his music as "Sexy, Urban-R&B" with the emphasis on "sexy." A bit eclectic, part old school and part new school all mixed together into a unique musical signature. You get the smoothness of Sam Cook, the sexy passion of Marvin Gaye and the melodic brillance of Stevie Wonder. All rolled into a dynamic, unique, signature voice that creatively animates each track with intricate vocal harmonies, arrangements and nuances that give it a distinct "E" Sound. An all around entertainer and meticulous artiste', E'Andre is a soul singer-gifted with a silky smooth first tenor voice that slides easily in and out of his signature falsetto, while exhibiting vocal control and freedom simultaneously. As a songwriter, E', as he is called by his inner circle, has an uncanny ability to write "hooky" songs that stay in your head, long after your disc player has ceased rotating. "I hear music during ordinary moments-you know, while taking a shower, or just taking in life-then the melody comes." Born and raised in Chicago, E'Andre grew up singing with his family's gospel group, The Radfords, a bon a fide "PK" - E' grew up on stage and feels most at home in front of an audience. "I gained confidence in my voice as a child. My mother made me do all the high parts in our show. I was so young, but I never had any fear on stage." E'Andre says that he is grateful for his early exposure to music and live performance, it has made him the artist that he is today-absolutely confident, easily commanding the stage and connecting to his audience effortlessly. Even though his musical roots grew out of gospel, E' knew his true musical destiny was R&B. He states, "I'm grateful for my background in gospel because it has made me a better singer. In my heart, I am gospel, but the music that I hear-its definitely on the R&B/Urban tip."E'Andre's resume includes opening for DMX, Next, Public Announcement, Nick Cannon, The Pointer Sisters, Commissioned, and God's Property. . He has also performed backgrounds for Will Smith on the "Code Red" and Prince's/Emancipation album. He has collaborated with Chicago-based producers, Hula and K. Fingers as part of a boy band he formed with his brothers, David and Victor-"Reprize" which Jive Records was developing as their next big thing, as things go in the industry the deal never went through. Not to be deterred from his goals, E'Andre refocused his energy on a collaboration with two other artists forming "Man To Man" a R&B concept group ...
