| | Critical City Life CD Critical Discography of CDs
Music has moved Critical since he took his first baby steps, listening to a song playing over his mother’s eight track stereo. He first learned the art of drumming from his father, a professional drummer. Critical’s love for music spread to keyboarding as well as wind and percussion instruments. By the age of five, he was performing in his hometown, Minneapolis, Minnesota.Critical’s love for music led him to enroll in a High School known for its state-of-the-art recording studio. There, he began focusing on his dream of becoming a Producer. Critical began recording projects with his group “Impact”, performing in clubs, community events & receiving radio airplay. Enrolling in college for music, Critical begin to learn about the business side of the Music industry. He went on to intern with well-known Producer and Professional Musician, Morris Hayes who has played with Prince, Mazarati, Chaka Khan and many others. Hayes has produced over a dozen albums and been a professional musician for over two decades.Critical is on a mission to keep the crowd jumping, speakers bumping and heads bobbing. He feels the pain of music lovers waiting for their favorite artist’s album to drop – only to discover that the only song they love on the album is the single they heard on the radio.Tupac Shakur was a major music influence in his life. His emotion and lyrics are what Critical admired most about Tupac. Critical’s style in producing is heavily influenced by Rap, Jazz, Gospel and Techno music.Critical’s solo album is scheduled to hit a neighborhood near you late 2006. His first single, “Get Sic Wit It” has a contagious hook and a beat that is truly heartfelt with a ghetto twist. Get ready to turn up the volume and dance with Critical. City Life CD music
$13.95 This is an enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files including the video for "What's My Name."
"Gin & Juice" was nominated for a 1995 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance.
Long Beach, California's Snoop Doggy Dogg made one of the most successful debuts in rap music with DOGGYSTYLE. Introduced on the Dr. Dre single "Deep Cover," Snoop gained further popularity with his smoothed-out gangsta-type flow on Dre's THE CHRONIC. His music has ruled the clubs and the airwaves ever since, and the fact that his Dr. Dre-directed video "Murder Was The Case" was extended into an 18-minute feature-length film with its own soundtrack is further proof of just how much pull Snoop has in the hip-hop nation.
Having super-producer Dr. Dre behind the scenes guaranteed DOGGYSTYLE a top ten spot on the pop charts. Singles like "Gin And Juice" and "Who ...
| | A Tribe Called Quest Midnight Marauders CD (1993)
City Life music CDs
$8.99 Third and last of the "classic" Tribe records (preceding the addition of Jay Dee and the formation of "the Ummah" production team), MIDNIGHT MARAUDERS is not as groundbreaking as PEOPLE'S INSTINCTIVE TRAVELS or as consistently on-point as LOW END THEORY. However, it is arguably the group's most musically sophisticated album. The tracks balance jazz, soul, and even reggae influences with pure hip-hop to arrive at a completely distinctive Tribe sound, the logical evolution of the bop-inflected hooks ...
| | Heavy Nite With Relaxed Muscle CD (2003) Import
City Life songs
$16.29 One-off project from the duo led by Jarvis Cocker where he briefly indulged himself in electroclash insanity after the demise of Pulp .
Primarily seen as a bizarre busman's holiday for Jarvis Cocker where he briefly indulged himself in electroclash insanity after the demise of Pulp, Relaxed Muscle isn't quite as wild as its reputation may suggest -- or as wild as the comically gothic makeup Cocker worse under the guise of Darrin Spooner, the pseudonym he adopted for this band, which also featured Jason Buckle and contributions from Richard Hawley. Their lone album, A Heavy Nite with Relaxed Muscle, is heavy on clangings synths and drum machines, but it's never as confrontational as the electroclash that provided inspiration for Cocker and company in the year of 2003: the artiness here finds Jarvis reconnecting with his post-punk roots, in a way. After all, what is the duo's theme song, "Muscle Music," but an updated version of "Ant Rap," right down to the Burundi drums pulsating through the track? And that's what makes A Heavy Nite with Relaxed Muscle something less than a heavy experience -- sure, it's all painted in dark colors and accentuated with highlights of noise, but it's hard to call a record that's ...
| | Seventh Key Live In Atlanta CD (2005) Import
City Life album
$19.09 Prior to the recording of this album, at a private performance in May 2005, Seventh Key, the five-year magical musical partnership between Kansas bassist Billy Greer and his old Streets bandmate, Mike Slamer, had never played a live gig. And that is a damn shame, because Live in Atlanta proves loud and clear that Seventh Key sounds heavier, tighter and more dramatic on the stage than in the studio, especially on songs like 'An Ocean Away', 'Winds Of War' and 'The Sun Will Rise'. Of course, bassist and Steve Walsh-sound-alike Greer surrounded himself with some of the best melodic hard-rock musicians in the biz for this show, including Slamer on guitar, keyboards and bass; former Strangeways singer Terry Brock on guitar and background vocals; and drummer Pat McDonald and keyboardist David Manion. With a familiar sound that recalls Kansas, Foreigner, Streets and Steelhouse Lane (another Slamer Band), Seventh Key culled some of the best songs from 2001's self-titled debut and 2004's The Raging Fire for this one-off performance, as well as a Streets classic ('Cold Hearted Woman'). Kansas violinist and Greer's brother, Johnny, joined the band on stage for a beautiful acoustic ...
