In six years of coaching, Grant Taylor has never led his Shiloh Eagles to a winning season. After learning that he and his wife Brooke face infertility, Grant discovers that a group of school leaders are secretly organizing to have him dismissed as head coach. Devastated by his circumstances, he cries out to God in desperation. When Grant receives a message from an unexpected visitor, he searches for a stronger purpose for his football team. He dares to challenge his players to believe God for the impossible on and off the field. When faced with unbelievable odds, the Eagles must step up to their greatest test of strength and courage. A high school football coach (played by actor/director Alex Kendrick) uses some unorthodox methods to motivate his team in FACING THE GIANTS. Facing The Giants Movie Review Average Rating: (4.1 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews An Excellent Movie! This was an excellent movie with an excellent story line. The bottom line is that with God we can do anything!! This movie got that point across extremely well. When you trust God for everything, you can't go wrong. Just remember to praise Him no matter what - through the good and the bad. Submitted by KlassyEsq (Valley Stream, NY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
An good idea for a movie done in a not so good way Ok the acting in this movie was subpar but i understand that the "actors" were actually kids from a team/school and not professional actors.. in that way its understandable.
pretty straight foward: If you are a christian, you will probably love the movie.
IF you are not christian, the religious message is so IN YOUR FACE(its straight up preaches, not just sharing a message)that it might turn you off to the movie instead of giving it a chance.
There were some suprisingly powerful/good parts that were moving/inspiring (and surprisingly these were the ones with an undertone and religion and not-in-your-face preaching) but then the rest of the movie was incredibly corny and predictable ( i had the whole movie planned out in my head before watching it...going on cliches of sports related and religious movies..and i was about 99% right) which just put a big damper on the movie's message and the movie in general Submitted by raveafterglow (Binghamton ny) Was This Review Helpful? Praise GOD! I don't know how this movie made it to the big screen. This movie is clearly not about the world (murder, theft, lust, greed,). This movie is about Praising GOD and being humble to our creator no-matter what our situation is. Win or Lose we praise GOD. Five stars is not enough to rate this movie I give it a 10. Insperational This movie exceeded all my expectaions. It was excellent and I look forward to purchasing it. Anyone can enjoy this movie. It was nice to be able to see a movie that the entire family could enjoy, that was not a cartoon. I did not have to worry about inappropriate language, crudeness. I wish there were more movies like this one. Submitted by Jen (Tampa, FL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$23.45 Talking cars rediscover the quirky originality of middle America in this inventive animated film from the folks at Pixar (TOY STORY, FINDING NEMO). Owen Wilson does the voice of arrogant rookie racecar Lightning McQueen, who winds up stranded in the small desert town of Radiator Springs on his way west to a big showdown. Sentenced to community service after literally tearing up the road in a high-speed chase, at first all Lightning can think of is getting back to the world of corporate sponsorship and merchandising tie-ins he loves so well. Eventually, however, the eccentric residents of Radiator Springs begin to grow on him, especially the ...

$10.29 James Clayton is fired up. A bartender by night and computer hacker in the few hours of daylight for which he manages to leave his water bed, the kid is flying high, on a roll with a laid-back lifestyle that suits him just fine. A cushy job offer from Dell computers peaks his interest in securing a professional career, and at the same moment he meets Walter Burke (Al Pacino), a recruiter from the CIA. Though Clayton's better judgement tells him to stay away from the shady Burke, he is curious to learn whatever he can about his father, ...

$9.69 When Deepa Mehta first began filming WATER in 2000, angry fundamentalist mobs burned her sets and threatened her life. The Indian government claimed it could not protect her, and the project had to wait four years before finally filming in Sri Lanka. Her film has raised the ire of extremists because it challenges the Hindu customs that dictate that widows, considered half-dead after the loss of their husbands, must be closeted in holy ashrams--a practice that still exists today. Set in the 1930s, the film tells the story of eight-year old Chuyia, whose husband dies before she even meets him. Her parents shave her head and whisk her away to a house of widows where the women sleep on the ground and beg in the streets to earn their puny portion of rice. Chuyia, feisty and resilient, comes into this world like a ray of light, and soon the women are rethinking their mute acceptance of their fate. Her closest friend and ally is the lovely Kalyani, and soon a forbidden romance ...

$19.55 Middle school is rarely an easy time, but it's particularly difficult for Logan (Malcolm Stumpf) in this coming-of-age film set in the 1980s. He has the requisite unrequited crush--but the object of his affection is a boy named Rodeo (Patrick White). Logan spends time with Rodeo and fellow outcast Joey (Max Paradise), but he's far from fitting in. His home isn't even a haven since his single mother (Fairuza Balk, PERSONAL VELOCITY) isn't sure what to do with her son. Logan continues to grapple with his feelings of attraction for his friend as he determines who he is.
Though it shares a setting and theme with some of John Hughes's "Brat Pack" films, WILD TIGERS I HAVE KNOWN couldn't be farther from those 1980s classics. Though there are moments of humor, this is a dark and unconventional film that exposes the isolation of growing up as an outcast. In his first starring role, Stumpf carries the film well. He ably expresses Logan's desire--both for Rodeo and for acceptance. First-time-feature ...
