The mixture of noise and silence is not a new invention. However, the trick still works, and Racetrack Babies are well aware of that. The trio, which consist of Hans Christian Wayne, Cecilie Ravik, and Martin Bjerregaard (known from Sune Wagner's old band Psyched Up Janis), is absolutely capable of combining heavy walls of guitars with pop sensibility. The best track is "Unprepared", which easily could have sat on a Dinosaur Jr. album. In particular, Hans Christian Wayne's vocal is reminiscent of J. Mascis, which is both good and bad. His fragile, insisting voice is lifted by Ravik's light backing vocal, when necessary. Racetrack Babies got everything under control, and The End deserves a lot more attention than their debut from 2002. Gaffa Magazine, Denmark. Racetrack Babies The End Songs | 1. | Your Maker |

The End songs
$7.99 The conception of Melodious started in the parking lot of the Calvary Baptist Church of Pacoima, CA, where Apostle William T. Broadous, Sr. is the Senior Pastor. The members shared ideas of writing and performing original gospel music. The group started as "Melodious Hearts", later dropping the "Hearts" and is now known simply as "Melodious". The group has been together for five years and in 2004 released their debut self title CD. The End songs
$9.85 'Say Ah!' had it's beginnings more than 15 years ago when Andrew Haughton and his best friend Rob Gildemeester received guitars for Christmas in 1990. While Rob was learning Bryan Adams cover songs through a local guitar teacher, Andrew was writing his first ever song entitled "The Bomb" which explored the idea of nuclear holocaust in his home town of Powassan, Ontario. It was thanks to his older brother Tim who helped impart a passion for songwriting early on in Andrew's life. In their first year of high school Rob and Andrew formed a garage band called "Tilting Trees" with their friend Ian Lawrence (drums). Their first ever practice, a collection of on-the-spot improvised noise and wailings, was recorded and released among friends under the title "Demogi". It's a good thing none of their friends gave an honest opinion of what they really thought of the music otherwise they may given up before they got started. A few years later the pair got together with classmate Tyler Dokis (present drummer for Toronto band "Showroom"). After a very successful debut performance for a high school concert the band visited 'Flipside Studios' in North Bay to begin recording the 11-song 'An Attempt to Make a Brighter Day'. The leadoff track, 'Konnichiwa' is still played quite frequently in 'Say Ah!' gigs. The album sold over 250 copies within the school body.In 1999, Rob and Andrew said their goodbyes to Tyler, who was now heading off to University, and welcomed into the fold Paul Vail (drums) and Perry Trinier (present front-man for North Bay band 'Form One'). Under the name 'Ryst?', the band spent a year playing numerous 'Battle of the Bands' gigs and then went on to record a 6-song EP titled 'With Timed Strides'. In September of 2000 Rob and Andrew parted ways to attend different schools in Southern Ontario. After a year of relative inactivity Andrew began to experiment with home-recording and went on to make two solo albums titled 'Why Can't I Get it Straight?' & '*******'. In the meantime Rob began a rigorous schedule of playing video games and bass guitar! sometimes simultaneously. Following a chance reunion at the B-Side club in Toronto, Tyler Dokis again found himself behind a kit in support of Rob and Andrew. The next two years consisted of full-band gigs in the summer, when Rob would be in the city cleaning subway stations for the T.T.C., and the rest of the year Andrew would be playing solo / duo shows with ...
| | Sprinkle Genies The Class Is On Fire CD (2007)
The End album
$14.79 The Sprinkle Genies had fallen on hard times. Almost a decade into their career they had conquered all of NYC's major clubs, which included some sell-out shows at such venues as the famed Mercury Lounge and frequent appearances at the seminal Sidewalk Cafe. They received numerous invitations to play downtown art space/loft parties from NYC's activist underground, attended by a healthy cross-section of avant-garde street artists and musicians, bike-messenger politicos, crusty punk squatters, and neo-hippies straight from the sidewalks of 'Camp Avenue A.' There were even invitations to chic gatherings of the genteel Williamsburgh Trust-Fund elite. They'd tracked in all the studios most favored in the music scene: Baby Monster, Waterworks, Bat Cave and Tu Casa, to name a few. They received regular airplay on such uber-hip stations as KFJC in Los Altos, CA, and WFMU in East Orange, NJ. But now their label, I Know This Guy Records, who had just signed a large distribution deal with Olive Juice Music, had upped the ante, pressuring the Genies to produce a 'masterpiece' that would funnel money into the new partnership. The journey the band would take in order to achieve their label's weighty aspirations would ultimately result in a collection of songs that exploded onto the scene against the backdrop of the nation's military crisis and economic unrest, capturing a moment in time in razor-sharp detail. The durability of the 'Sprinklemyth' in the whisperings, dreams, and schemes of generations to come was assured. This is the story of how this curious, insightful, and incendiary collection of aural snapshots came into being. Through spring to early summer of 2006 the group traveled the East Coast of the 'United' States (in name only, as political tensions with the war in Iraq were tearing the nation apart) in search of a recording ...

The End music CDs
$18.99 After having moved from rural Maryland to NYC at the age of 19, I began truly living my dream. Going to school through the day, waiting tables at night, and trying to find the time and money to record in between. I had my Coyote Ugly moment probably the first night I sat on the bare floor of my unfurnished apartment, eating take-out from the tin triumphantly thinking ~ I've done it!Little did I know that the thrill of the starving artist lifestyle wouldn't last forever. It wasn't long until I began to struggle with a deep depression! I cried every day and every night, constantly thinking~ what is wrong with me? A lot of it had to do with just growing up, and finding myself. Having been raised with very strict Christian values, I began to question ~ not God ~ but the intricacies of faith itself. Surrounded by different lifestyles and cultures than what I had experienced before coming ...
