The Confidentials have become one of the Midwest’s premier party hosts with their unique blend of funk, jazz, and reggae. The power ten piece act fronted by the Spurgeon brothers Stan and Steve are known for their funky, soulful good-natured and spirited live performances. The band has released 5 CDs and plays over 100 dates a year throughout the country. The appeal of The Confidentials is largely due not only to the diverse make-up of the band, but also to the musical accomplishments of each member – Stan Spurgeon on vocals, Steve Spurgeon on vocals and rhythmic guitar, Leon Adams on keyboard, Jim Eddy on lead guitar, Jerry Devore on bass guitar, Bill Nanson on drums, Michael Pujado on percussion, Davey Polson on saxophone, Bill Kearney on trombone and Barry Hitt on trumpet. The group's sound and presence is at its peak, regularly packing some of the Midwest's premium musical venues, with standing-room only crowds. A profusion of performances throughout the Midwest, and a surge of recent shows on the West Coast, has the band in top touring shape. In addition, The Confidentials have established themselves as one of the region’s most popular party bands, lending their musical style to many private and corporate events. The band has recently been featured in the January 2006 issue of Modern Bride as one of the 150 Hottest Bands across the nation! Many of the band's original songs have become anthems for fans, with local radio stations using these songs as backdrops for their radio programs and commercials. The band has 6 CDs of original music to their credit, including a the first ever new cover CD “Under the Covers” that was released at the end of March 2006. In 2003, The Confidentials had two songs signed by music publisher Justin Wilde of Song Castle Music in Lakewood, California. 'Mama's Song' and 'Angel' both reflect the unique vocals and sound stylings that are The Confidentials trademark. And recently, three of The Confidentials CDs have become available on iTunes and have been increasingly popular in the music download community. As the band's popularity continues to grow, so does the broad appeal of their musical message. Their ever-expanding flock of fans will testify: "Harmony is not just a musical concept - it's a personal goal." Traditionals album
$15.95 As the dust settles, and we move forward in time, new-dedicated talents shall come forth to catapult their areas of expertise into the new millenium. One such artist is the topic of our synopsis. His chosen vehicle of audio-matic vibration is the Flute. It's been quite some time since we've seen an artist take the Flute to such astounding heights, as does "Nakayo". There's a myriad of players out there today on Alto, Tenor, and Soprano sax. There are guitarist, keyboards and trumpeters as well all in the foreground just to name a few. There are even some Flautists out there, but none who stand out in the crowd, as does this sensational player. "Nakayo" has stepped forward to be the one to bring the Flute to the foreground once again! Here is some background information on the man, the musician. "Nakayo" Dupree (Flautist/Percussionist) ...

Traditionals songs
$22.79 DR. ALFRED J. GALLODORO, SAXOPHONIST/CLARINETIST, MORE PROLIFIC THAN EVER IN HIS NINETIES, RELEASES NEW CD, DAYBREAK – LYRICAL JAZZ. With a career spanning over nine amazing decades, Gallodoro has a specific goal as he releases his third CD in less than two years: to bring a renewed awareness of the lyrical sound of the saxophone to mainstream jazz. He has achieved that end by not simply choosing to re-master his fine older recordings, but recording anew, over the age of ninety, with astonishing dexterity, imaginativeness and playful energy.Gallodoro achieved his personal sound by emulating the human voice, specifically that of opera singers, back in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The collection of songs on DAYBREAK – LYRICAL JAZZ range from Grofé’s melodious title track, through the Latin sounds of Taboo, the spirited Flat-Top Special, a melancholy Autumn Serenade, and finished with rich bass clarinet in When Day Is Done. All tunes not only highlight Gallodoro’s style of extemporaneous composition, but in tandem, showcase his art of bring the idioms of jazz and classical music together ...

| | Bwalya Seka Seka CD (2007)
Traditionals CD music
$22.79 Bwalya Chimfwembe’s voice is as exotic as her background. Born at the mission hospital in Monze, a small town in the heart of the Southern Province of Zambia in Africa, Bwalya has risen from humble roots to the world stage. Coming from a family of eleven raised by her policeman father and her home-making mother, Bwalya tested her voice in the Copperbelt town of Mufulira. Whether singing in the classroom or in the drama club or even under a streetlight or Mango tree with neighbouring children, Bwalya’s voice soared above all. Although she wanted to become a vet, Bwalya’s desire and love for singing was too strong to ignore and easily became her career. She was first inspired by one of Zambia’s great voices, the late Chisala Kalusha Jr., for whom she has special respect. She has dedicated the song “Ne Mulanda,” which appears on her first album Seka Seka to him.She also grew up listening to various Zambian artistes and jazz greats such as Sara Vaughan. She further drew inspiration from the golden voices of Africa Salif Keita, Rochereau Tabu Ley, Mbilia Bel and the Queen of Salsa Celia Cruz. Bwalya left Zambia in 1990 for Germany, spending the first years doing shows for Radio RPR 1 and charity shows for SOS children villages. During this time, she took time to learn German and started teaching German children to sing and dance. She has appeared on various German TV senders like ARD ‘Immer wieder Sonntags’, ZDF on ZDF Fernsehe Garten, WDR 3 on various programmes. She has also sang for Pope Benedict XVI, the current German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder and had appeared twice before the then President of the Federal Republic of Germany Johannes Rau at Schloß Bellevue at his garden party and also for his successor Horst Köhler. The Zambian-born singer has shared the stage with Shirley Bassey in Berlin at the Rosen Ball (Bertelmanns), Jennifer Rush at the Fisch Markt Halle in Hamburg, Manu Dibango and Shakira at the UNESCO Ball in Neuss, Weather Girls for the TV sender ZDF and George McRae (Rock your baby) in Munich. She appeared as a special guest on Tabu Ley’s Show in Köln Mülheim when he toured Germany in 2005. Always eager to travel, Bwalya has been touring Germany for more than seven ...

Traditionals music CDs
$25.35 Released on CD by her own label, this highly enjoyable effort matches the brilliant stride pianist Judy Carmichael with cornetist Warren Vache and guitarist Howard Alden.
