The Hatchlings are a Kansas City, Mo. based Blues, Jazz and R & B trio. The name comes from the late and great Provine “Little” Hatch, an internationally known bluesman famous for his big voice and big tone. Over the years, Little Hatch’s harmonica and vocal styling influenced scores of Kansas City musicians. After his passing in 2003, several members of his band, the Houserockers, decided to carry on his legacy as The Hatchlings. Long time members Jaisson Taylor (drums & vocals) and Bill Dye (guitar) eventually teamed up with Len Bacoski (bass & vocals) to form the current unit. Combining more than 100 years of playing experience, their unmistakable sound and energy aims to continue Little Hatch’s tradition of providing great “live” music. The Hatchlings are gaining notice regionally and have opened shows for Roomful of Blues, Popa Chubby, and Ronnie Baker Brooks. | | Best Of Tony Joe White Featuring "Polk Salad Annie." CD (1993)
Hatchlings CD music
$6.29 Twenty tracks from 1969-1973, the period of Tony Joe White's greatest success, including "Polk Salad Annie" and White's own version of his composition "Rainy Night in Georgia." Most of this is quality swamp rock with pop-soul-conscious production; on cuts like "High Sheriff of Calhoun Parrish," it sounds very much like he was trying to achieve a groove in the mold of Bobbie Joe Gentry's "Ode to Billie Joe." Sometimes he gets real down-home in a stomping backwoods blues style that makes him sound a little like a White counterpart to John Lee Hooker, as on "Stockholm Blues." If there's any criticism to be levied against this music, it's in its occasional lack of variety, White mining staple swamp rock boogie riffs for all they're worth. However, few, if any, performers and writers were as skilled as White in doing so, ...
| | Ken Lonnquist Circus Kenlando CD (2006)
Hatchlings music CDs
$16.45 THE CIRCUS KENLANDO “This fabulous show is not a circus in the conventional sense"only two of the 28 songs even mention the ‘C’ word"but the circus concept is as loose and baggy and full of pocket novelties as a clown’s trousers. Ringmaster Ken Lonnquist’s extravaganza does boast a veritable menagerie and a tidy sideshow of exotic characters. The latter include the shady, all-knowing Guru Guy, the nose-offending outlaw Windy Bill, and a slam-dunk wizard. Best of all is The Switcher-On Of Stars, a slightly mystical epic about the adventures that befall the title character, the earth, and the heavens. Considering its abundance of diverse material and musical styles (including credible calypso and western swing), The Circus Kenlando is well worth the price of admission." "Paul Shackman, Booklist Parents in KenlandNot long after I moved to Madison, I found myself at the Pooh Corner Bookstore shopping for some music for my kids, who were pretty little at the time'"roughly 3-1/2 and and 18 months, I think. Now, call me an old grump if you must, but I can take about 10 minutes of Raffi before I have to leave the room, and I won’t go into the room in the first place if there’s any reason to believe Barney’s lurking in there. But as I was browsing the cassette offerings, I spotted ...

It features a generous 16 songs and is the first to be totally recorded at Nobby's new Beneath The Living Room Studio. The CD opens with the rousing and extremely positive title track... "Hold The Truth". Affirming the fact that only each of us holding on the faith holds the truth.Track 2..."It's Myself"...a personal favorite, is a strong message to face the fact that we are our own worst enemy ! Bravo Nobby for having the courage to state this fact !"Sliding" is a tour de force of Nobby's bottle neck guitar prowess."Mr. Sun"...a slow blues is a powerhouse lament, strong on guitar solos and plaintiff vocals."Let Go"...another favorite is very biographical and expresses Nobby's feelings about what his music means to him and what he hopes it does for his ...

| | Molly & Sonny Boy Molly & Sonny Boy Christmas Show CD (2007)
Hatchlings album
$13.15 HAPPY HOLIDAYS: IN A NEW OLD-FASHIONED WAYSomething is coming around the bend for your Christmas holidays this year. What is it?.A "new old-fashioned" CD recording by southern Minnesota musicians, Molly and Sonny BoyThe 10-track holiday CD is called, "The Molly and Sonny Boy Christmas Show. What makes this holiday CD different than all the rest?Well, first of all it\'s arramged and performed by Amy Zents (Singer-songwriter) and James Zents (Producer) in their own "Rhythm 'N blues grass\" style. The \"Rhythm \'N Blues Grass\" genre is a style of backwoods bluegrass and Memphis Blues-style music uniquely created by Molly and Sonny Boy to differentiate them from the pack of commerical mainstream music artists.Rhythm \'N Blues Grass music puts a groovy new spin on some of the world\'s most popular Christmas songs. Thus, music-lovers can listen to an intriguing layering of multiple percussive instruments in a counterpuntal, harmonic and melodic stream that is bouncy, happy and rhythmic.Molly and Sonny Boy blend the familiar vocal lyrics of popular Christmas songs, such as \"Do You Hear What I Hear,\" \"Jingle Bell Rock,\" and \"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,\" with intriguing harmonica licks and phenomenal guitar playing that will conjure up memories of cozy winters. tasty snacks and family gatherings around the hearth, while also tossing in musical surprises, like getting beaned by an unexpected, yet refreshing snowball! One such surprise is a lovely original holiday song they wrote called, \"Christmas Reminds Us.\" In the spirit of \"What Child is this?\" based on the familar \"Greensleves,\" Molly and Sonny Boy chose to use a traditional English melody, found in an old lament called, \"Early One Morning,\" but created their own Christmas lyrics. The melody of \"Early One Morning,\" is familiar to many, however, in Molly and Sonny Boy\'s arrangement the song modulates, or changes key over 7 times in the song. Some may even remember that during the 1960\'s, a popular Canadian Children\'s television show caled, \"The Gentle Giant\" used \"Early One Morning,\" as the opening and closing theme of the show. Nevertheless, changing the lyrics of \"Early One Morning,\" to those of \"Christmas Reminds Us,\" turned what was ...
