During the mid-nineties, a young boy found himself playing the part of a radio personality on mix tapes he was making in his basement. The young boy with the adoration of music cultivating his love for the art was named Brandon Tyler. Brandon soon moved on from playing the part of a radio personality to a more appropriate form of expressing his love of music by picking up a guitar.A few years after picking up a guitar for the first time, Brandon Tyler formed a band for which he was main songwriter and front man; the band was called The Mazzy All-Stars (go ahead, laugh it up). The Mazzy All-Stars lasted from the summer of 1999 until their demise in the summer of 2001. In their first year as a band they opened for Better Than Ezra, Berlin, and The Romantics at various concerts sponsored by B93.1 (Clear Channel’s KOSO in Modesto, CA).The Mazzy All-Stars was not the only project that Brandon Tyler started in 1999; he also began a gig playing live and acoustic every Friday night on B93.1 in Modesto. The gig lasted, on and off, for the next 7 years.Shortly after the split of The All-Stars, Brandon moved seven hours south of his hometown to San Luis Obispo. Brandon continued to write and play music. He was living with old high school friends when he met a girl. Seeing everyone around him working towards a typical life comparable to that of their parents while he was unable to find a single dedicated musician to play with him, Brandon decided to try the road more traveled. Brandon shacked up with his then girlfriend and moved to Orange County in pursuit some new life and left his aspirations of becoming a professional musician behind.After about a year, now single and scared to death of the suburban wonderland he had been blindly chasing, Brandon woke from his daze while wandering around the Triangle Square Mall (Costa Mesa, Ca). Born in India, raised in Toledo, Ohio, Vytas began playing music at the age of 5. By the age of 14 he was playing bass in a cover band and writing songs on the guitar. At 17 he released a tape of original songs which he sold at local Toledo record stores. A year later he graduated from high school and left Ohio to attend the Universtiy of California, Berkeley. While at Berkeley, he studied music and French. His focus shifted to jazz and classical music. He studied double bass with the principal bassist of the San Francisco Symphony and learned jazz while playing in San Francisco night clubs. During his fourth year of study he lived in Paris, France and played bass with many local groups. Performances took him throughout France as well as Morocco and Turkey. At that time he began writing music for film. His first film, "Godard disait que. . ." is viewable at the Centre Pompidou, a museum of contemporary art in Paris.
