Purchase The Elephant King CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Susan Boyle I Dreamed A Dream CD (2009)
The Elephant King album
$9.55 Susan Boyle's grand unveiling on Britain's Got Talent was with a song from Les Miserables - the very song that lends this album its title -- and if she could become an international sensation based on a show tune standard, there's no reason for her to change her approach on her debut, since that's the sound that made her a star. Plus, a large part of Boyle's appeal is that she's a middle-aged woman recalling a bygone era when there were singers that appealed to an adult audience by offering soft, stately versions of pop hits and standards. That time was the ...
| | Jimmy Buffett Buffet Hotel CD (2009)
The Elephant King CD music
$9.74 Since Jimmy Buffett never leaves his comfort zone, it's hard to call 2009's Buffet Hotel a return to roots but, in a way, it is. Discounting the mock rap on "Turn Up the Heat and Chill the Rosé," this album doesn't even have the lingering country and reggae flavors that seasoned 2006's Take the Weather with You, with all of the songs riding a cool, mellow country-rock ...

| | Lady Gaga Fame Monster CD (2009)
The Elephant King songs
$8.79 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident ...

| | Bon Jovi Circle CD (2009)
The Elephant King CD music
$11.17 Bon Jovi's 2007 effort, LOST HIGHWAY, found New Jersey's finest brandishing a Nashville-tinged, commercial rock/country crossover sound that wasn't too far a stretch from their usual arena rocking anthems for the Everyman. And where that album sometimes tried too hard to fit into the conventions of trad country, sacrificing some of the fist-pumping potency of their best `90s-era efforts in the process, THE CIRCLE, the band's fifth studio effort of the ...
| | Paul Epstein Lessons Life's Taught Me CD (2003)
The Elephant King music CDs
$11.39 "Lessons features sensitive backing by members of the Mountain Stage band, as well as a batch of unfancy easily enjoyable songs. the clear winners of the group are "Take a Lesson from the Earth" with its strong melody and ethereal background vocals and "Lettin' Go" which has a familiar countryish charm. Some tracks are colored by hints of gospel and jazzy fiddle-fueled swing, which lend an agreeable diversity to the disc." --from a Review in "Graffiti," a Charleston, WV Music Scene magazine:These 12 songs give you 12 insights into Paul's heart and soul: thoughtful, witty, loving, pained at times, wise, reflective and diverse in musical styles. The disk is backed up by West Virginia's finest musicians--members of WV Public Radio's Mountain Stage band, who give the songs rich acoustic textures with Ahmed Solomon's brilliant percussion, Ron Sowell and John Kessler's impeccable rhythm guitar and bass backgrounds, and Steve Hill's tasteful acoustic guitar leads and colorings throughout. The instrumentation is rounded out by Paul's fiddle adding the perfect bluegrassy sound on tracks like "You Put a Smile on My Face" and swing licks on "You're the One that Should be Blue" and others. To add the finishing touches, Paul is joined by vocalists Julie Adams, John Ely, Nancy Buckingham, Becky Kimmons and Bill Kimmons who create a gospel chorus on "Let us All Sing With Joy" and doo wop setting for "I've Got my Love on Hold." Each 'lesson' on this disk will be one you'll want to hear again and again.Paul Epstein has been living and playing music in West Virginia since 1974 where he came to settle. He had taught himself guitar as a teenager growing up in PA. In the early 70's he played string bass with string bands in Maine and Pennsylvania. When Paul arrived in West Virginia to settle in rural Roane County, he acquired a fiddle and began going to festivals and listening to and studying the fiddling of many legendary West Virginia fiddlers ...

The Elephant King songs
$12.55 Voted one of the best top 25 indie Cds of the year by IndieMuic , songwriter, producer and guitarist for the legendary rock band Heart and such artists as Blondie, Tina Arena, Seal, Simply Red and many others, finally has a solo CD. Sixteen songs, twelve notes and a million words. These songs are about life ..... All of the things we have in common. And all of the things that pull us apart. That what this CD is about. One doesn't have to look far. Big corporations, little people. Reality TV, shadow lives. Over medicating, under living. The information age, less to say. The bad, the good the indifferent and everything in between. Those are The Finer Points Of Instinct."Craig Bartock conjures a dizzying demonstration of melody and instrumentation. Bartock is a master guitarist, yet in his one man band pop masterpiece, the guitar is simply one aspect in a symphony of sounds. Crack the CD booklet and read along as Bartock spins his magic." Robert Silverstein, 20th Century Guitar Magazine."Bartock has a sense of tempo with his finger on your pulse, and he does this because he knows how to lay down a hook with his guitar and vocals. Considering all the instruments Bartock plays throughout The Finer Points Of Instinct, it takes on a different light and meaning when you stop and think about what he sets out to do and accomplishes on this release. Bartock manages to separate himself from all the hopefuls vying for your ears with thoughtful and reflective ...
