Darren Giles (Lou Taylor Pucci, Southland Tales) has lost his college scholarship, can't work up the courage to ask out the girl of his dreams, and doesn't have the cash to stay in college another semester. Unless he can survive a teenage dominatrix and New York's biggest drug mogul, convince his parents he's not gay, write a passing paper on Dante's Inferno, escape three thugs chasing the wrong guy, and sell fifty pills of Ecstasy in time to make his tuition payment, he'll never get the chance to date the girl of his dreams (Kristen Bell, TV's Veronica Mars). Also starring John Hensley, Nora Zehetner, Michael Pena, Jane Lynch, Monica Keena, and Eddie Kaye Thomas. Indie prince Lou Taylor Pucci (THUMBSUCKER) plays Darren, a college student who will do anything to pay his tuition after losing his scholarship. Desperation turns the normally naive teen into a drug dealer as his only hope is to sell 50 Ecstasy pills in one day. The premise may sound dire, but this is a comedy of errors as Darren must deal with a host of comically shady characters, including his worldly roommate (John Hensley, NIP/TUCK). Kristen Bell (VERONICA MARS) plays the object of Darren's desire--and perhaps his real reason for wanting to stay in school. $9.65 A spectacular musical made for Showtime, and based on the most infamous propaganda film ever, REEFER MADNESS is a hilarious, campy extravaganza with glorious performances turned in by an all-star cast. A straitlaced youth, Jimmy Harper (Christian Campbell), is seduced by the irresistible new drug, marijuana, and soon his girlfriend, Mary (Kristin Bell), proves equally unable to withstand its lure. Stunning costumes and dance sequences are accompanied by witty dialogue in a staging that is as irresistible as the drug itself. Co-starring are Neve Campbell (SCREAM), Alan Cumming (X-2), Steven Weber (TIMECODE), and Ana Gasteyer (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, MEAN GIRLS).
