The Soundtrax of My Life signals the first set of new material by singer/guitarist José Feliciano in over a decade. The multi-talented musician is probably best remembered for his 1967 hit version of "Light My Fire," the theme for Chico & the Man, the holiday standard "Feliz Navidad" and a controversial 1968 version of the "Star Spangled Banner." But Feliciano has never disappeared; he continued to record sporadically throughout the '80s, including several popular Spanish language discs as well as landing a few acting roles in both film and television. For 2007's The Soundtrax of My Life, Feliciano, with help from co-producer and instrumentalist Al Payson, has returned to full-fledged music making with his trademark flamenco flavored, Latin pop intact; he wrote all the material, played the majority of instruments and produced what turned out to be a soulful D.I.Y. album. The titles reflect what's been on his mind over the past decade: "One Never Knows," "Face the Music," "Dancin' and Romancin'" and a candidate for most direct anti-war sentiment during the last half of the Bush administration "Killing's Not the Answer." Anyone who mistakenly placed José Feliciano in an oldies time capsule should check out The Soundtrax of My Life. ~ Al Campbell

Jose Feliciano Soundtrax Of My Life Songs Soundtrax Of My Life Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Jose's back with a cracker! This album of all self penned material is Jose's first English album for many years and what a cracking album it is.
It's a full 17 tracks displaying his amazing talent and unique gutar skills.
It harks back to his brilliant albums of the late 60's and 70's such as Fireworks, Sweet Soul Music and Compartments to name just a few with great vocals and superb guitar work but with song such as 'Killing's not the answer' shows he's thoroughly up to date as well.

After 2 decades, The return of the True Jose! Really, I waiting to hear the "my" true Jose after 2 decades of his only latin albums... Not because those album are not a true side of Jose, but because My Jose is what I knew from his internationals english 60s and 70s funky soul pop album "a-la-only-Jose-can-do", and this "Soundtrax Of My Life" is this! Jose return to put his special soul, voice and guitar with latin influence to many type of music, in any song You can hear a diifferent Jose and again his unique guitar-touch (I think He's the most incredible guitarist of this world). Great this new Album, hope for this any accolade how deserve and hope record companies, radios and music-magazines help it.
A particular mention to "Face The Music", "Dancin Romancin', "I Know" and for "killing's not the answer": a song then hope someone in actual administration must hear when decided a war against a people.

| | Jack Casady Dream Factor CD (2003)
Soundtrax Of My Life songs
$11.29 Jack Casady first came to fame as an original member of the Jefferson Airplane and later, Hot Tuna. The first solo album (at age 59) from this well-traveled and prolific bassist, Dream Factor, is a mixed affair. Unlike most rock bass-playing frontmen, Casady does not sing, so his contributions to his debut are relegated to the occasional bass solo, and as co-writer of nearly all the tracks. His bass playing is more innovative and inspirational than his songwriting, ...
| | Angelyna Martinez Labor Of Love CD (2005)
Soundtrax Of My Life album
$15.19 Club star Angelyna Martinez takes a crack at going into solo recordings here with mixed results. The album is a collection of standards in the extreme. Angelyna can swing, she can hop, she can croon. Throughout it all though, despite some excellent phrasing and passion, her voice is small and light. As a result, it's hard to take some of the bits seriously. "Fever" comes across as almost a talent-show entry with the band holding back and leaving an immature-sounding Martinez up front. When the band pulls in fully though, and she isn't attempting to find her way into Eartha Kitt-style sexiness, Martinez can pull off some very nice pieces. It's hit and miss throughout, largely due simply to the tone of her voice. Give it a try, if for no other reason than the nice rendition of "Pure Imagination" (think Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). ~ Adam Greenberg
