(1 Customer Review)
Their first international release brought this Finnish goth band to world attention with its unapologetically guitar-centered sound, which conjured memories of such 1980s predecessors as the Sisters of Mercy, the Mission, and the Cult. Though singer Jyrki 69's vocals follow the classic forbidding goth tradition, the band's sound is surprisingly accessible, and the title track, a tribute to the Doors' Jim Morrison, transcends its churchyard origins as rock & roll for the ages.
The 69 Eyes horror-punk it out on WASTING THE DAWN.

Wasting The Dawn
$8.69 Covenant started to bring Morbid Angel up out of the underground, as MTV gave them wider exposure on its late Headbanger's Ball. Guitarist Trey Azagthoth plays complicated, heavily detuned riffs, some with a lightning-fast picking style and others in a slower groove. Drummer Pete Sandoval is one of the genre's fastest, and his jackhammer style helps complete ...

Ray Robinson, nee Rayon Henry, has been honing his craft for over ten years. Inspired by the church, Ray begun his pursuit of a musical career through gospel as a member of a group in the U.S. The group toured extensively throughout the United States, even gracing the stage of the musical Mecca, The Apollo. Following the Apollo performance, the group garnered recognition & an album was highly anticipated. Touring had helped them build a fan base; unfortunately the group did not last. Upon leaving the group, Ray Robinson returned to where it all began; Toronto Canada & the church. Once back in Toronto, Ray was determined to succeed as a solo artist & began recording on his own, in a small-unknown ...

| | My Bitter End Renovation CD (2007)
Wasting The Dawn
$8.15 The title of My Bitter End's second album, The Renovation, is an open admission of recent changes within the group, which brought in replacements at both the singer and second guitarist positions, and redirected their vision towards a more technical, versatile, and brutal, convergence of heavy metal and hardcore elements. This was unquestionably accomplished, and even though the 2000s are positively fraught with precocious young bands excelling at the art of all-over-the-place-itis, My Bitter End show admirable talent for siphoning their oodles of influences into frequently memorable tunes. As usual, it's all a matter of contrasts, contrasts, contrasts; switching from oppressive bouts of roaring, grindcore-like intensity into musical chords and even uplifting melodies and back, at the drop of a hat -- all the while skewing traditional rock song structures as a matter of course. Highlights within this dizzying maelstrom include "To All Things Expendable," with its unusually linear bursts of speedy metal riffs; "The Suburbs Breed Showmen" and "Subtleties," with their soaring harmonies mixed with vicious, math-metal breakdowns; and the troublesomely titled "Comfortable with Corpses," with its near-black metal ...
