The "K" Trio, which includes Mary Kasprzyk Tokarski, Julie Kasprzyk Cardona, and Walter Kasprzyk, began performing together in 1996, after a hiatus of over 25 years. Each of the members of this sister/brother team is an accordion champion in his/her own right. Julie represented the United States in the Coupe Mondiale (World Championships) in Holland (1967), England (1968) and New York City (1969). Mary represented the U.S. in the Coupe Mondiale in Belgium (1971) and France (1973). Walter captured the Connecticut State Championship Title in 1966, 1967 and 1968, and went on to be a contender for the U.S. Championship many times thereafter.As a duet team, Mary and Julie held the American Accordionists' Association Duet Championship in the U.S. for over 12 years without being defeated.
