The III Blue J’s: A Band of Kids With A" Very" Grown-Up SoundWith an extensive repertoire of classic material from some of the greatest masters of rock and blues (e.g., Clapton, Hendrix, S.R. Vaughan, CCR), the III Blue J's have become known for their energy, tightness, and overall fun. They wow the crowds in the most discriminating blues joints in the New York City area, leaving them jumping and screaming for more.Formed in 2004 in the basement of their New Jersey home, The III Blue J’s (ages 11, 12, and 17 along with their dad), jammed, rehearsed and experimented extensively before stepping on stage. Since then, they've released two CDs (both sold out and out-of-print) and have gained an ardent following of rock and bluesaholics who’ve witnessed the band’s shredding skills and have become loyal fans.According to one reviewer, "Parents love them because they play classic songs like a seasoned rock band; bringing those classics to a new generation. Kids love them because they're kids, and they’re fun to listen to and watch. They’re the ultimate rock and blues family band - playing to your entire family."When The III Blue J's are in your area, be sure to catch their gig – but don't expect to see a “kids” band. Instead, get ready for a foursome of accomplished musicians who play well beyond their years. They light up the stage, rock the house, and will absolutely delight moms, dads, and microdudes (and dudettes) of all ages. Rock Your Blues Away album
$12.29 BY A THREAD is Gov't Mule's first studio album since HIGH & MIGHTY was issued in 2006. Since that time, bassist Andy Hess has been replaced by Jorgen Carlsson, though Hess appears on two tracks at the end of the album. Carlsson's playing style is much more aggressive than Hess', and is therefore closer - in spirit anyway - to Gov't Mule's original bassist, the late Allen Woody, though he possesses an adventurous sense of time and is harmonically more colorful than either Woody or Hess. Carlsson and drummer Matt Abst are a solid match, since Abst is a drummer used to shifting time signatures and allowing the unexpected in while still driving a band. The band's keyboardist and rhythm guitarist, Danny Louis, is a shape-shifter, playing ...

$13.15 Where to start. My dad was a jazz pianist, and mom played violin. Early on it was Dylan and the NY folk scene, The Beatles, Beach Boys and music of the 60's including the Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead and Creedence. When the British invasion hit I really got into Zep, Pink Floyd, and Bowie. Currently everybody from Foo Fighters & Queens of the Stone Age to Jack Johnson and The Decemberists.Penguins On a Rock South has been an ongoing project for the past 2 to 3 years now. I've been getting together with various musicians in Nashville, LA, San Francisco Bay Area and So. Oregon trying to come up with some cool stuff. Influences are across the board as you can hear. I've been making records for the past 20 years and have produced and written with various ...
