| | Percy Williams I Believe CD Percy Williams Discography of CDs
Percy Williams started singing at the age of seven in a family group along with three of his brothers. Though he sang in a secular group when he was a teenager gospel music was still in his heart. After coming to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1984 with Dr. Rick V. Layton he began once again to sing gospel music as the music minister of the Word of Faith Christian Center. In 1998 Pastor Regianld L. Samuel produced and published Percy Williams’ first cassingle with two songs on it, one entitled “Do What the Lord Say Do,” and the other “You Don’t Know.” Now Percy Williams has recorded the inspiring and uplifting album entitled “I Believe” as a recording artist with everlasting Records Inc. I believe that Percy Williams and his songs continue to gained popularity because of the anointing that God has placed on him to minister in song and his faithfulness. I Believe CD music
$13.69 On the surface, Lifeline, Iris Dement's return to recording after an eight-year hiatus, is a collection of age-old gospel and church tunes from the 19th century -- or earlier -- in the grand Protestant tradition. He liner notes tell a different story. She recounts how her mother played and sang these songs in times of stress looking straight at the sky, "as if she were talking to someone." She claims that for her, too, the music contained here became her lifeline through a season of hardship, and that when calling her mother from the road in difficult straits, she was told to get to a piano. Dement's raw, high lonesome voice is as out of time as the material, though these presentations are ...

$15.19 Charlie Engle was born in the small Eastern Kentucky town of Whitesburg. His father, an Old Regular Baptist preacher, was his first musical influence. Charlie learned early the “lining out” style of singing in church. There was also always music in the house. “Mom always had the radio on while she would do her housework. I would sit and listen to George Jones, Bill Monroe, Bonnie Lou and Buster, Farron Young and all the old country music stars on WTCW. I used to sneak my transistor radio into bed at night and listen to Ralph Emory on WSM out of Nashville." During his teen years Charlie, started learning to play the guitar but it wasn’t until he entered college that he really started to seriously ...

I Believe CD music
$18.99 HI, My name is Joseph E. Bowden. I am an independent gospel artist that was born and raised in Washington,D.C. where I attended school and church. I am proud to say that I am a product of a very religious and caring family. During the early stages of my life there were three people that really inspired me a lot. That was My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, my mother, and my grandfather, the late Rev. Harvey Bowden, Pastor of the West Union Baptist Church located in Weldon, North Carolina. My grandfather was a great preacher and a great gospel singer who passed his talents down to my mother who was also a great gospel singer. The late Mrs. Mary M.Williams was the president of a female gospel group known as the Angelette Gospel Singers. My mother was the inspiration behind me ending up singing gospel. She saw the potential that was instilled in me to become a singer at the age of ten years old and asked a sweet lady named Ms. Esther Bell who was the director of the youth choir if I could join. After joining the choir, Ms. Bell taught me a lot of the basic fundamentals of singing background and lead gospel. I sung with the youth choir until I became twelve. Later, I took interest in singing duwops which was a name we used for R&B during that time. I and four other fellow classmates at the school I attended got together everyday during lunch hour and sung songs by Frankie Lyman and the Teenagers, the Marcels, the Everly Brothers, the Dells, and other groups. My bio could be long enough to write a book, but to make a long story short, three of my classmates along with myself formed a group named the Infernos. We tried our best to become R&B recording artists, but never got the opportunity. Later, I joined a R&B group known as the Apollo Brothers. We recorded one 45 record entitled Shacking Up in 1973, which was a great record but never received the recognition it deserved. I decided to leave the group and get married to the wonderful wife I am still with today after twenty five years, who has also been a great inspiration in my life. After helping my wife raise our ...
| | Dolan Ellis Tall Tales Lost Trails & Heroes CD (2008)
I Believe music CDs
$29.09 Dolan Ellis has served as Arizona's Official State Balladeer (a governor-appointed position) since 1966. Arizona was the first state to have an official balladeer, and Dolan was the first (and still the only) for Arizona. He describes himself as a singing poet laureate (or, as he may quip, lariat), but in reality he is much more. His 12-string guitar and his exciting vocal techniques, combined with his songwriting skills, his storytelling and humor, and his audience rapport, make his one of the best one-man shows one could ever see. Add to that combination the large-screen photography that is often included, and you get a great entertainment package.Dolan was an original member of the New Christy Minstrels and is touring and recording with them again, more than 40 years later, to the excitement of audiences around the nation. Ghost Riders in the Sky (a track on this CD) is usually the solo he sings with the Christies, and he often gets a standing ovation for that song.Seeking a place for Arizona and Western folk music and other art forms to be presented with dignity to interested audiences, Dolan founded the Arizona Folklore Preserve in Ramsey Canyon in Cochise County (just south of Sierra Vista). Since its opening in 1996, the Preserve has now featured more than 200 folk and acoustic artists. The AFP is now owned by the University of Arizona. Dolan remains as Artist-in-Residence and performs there one weekend each month. This CD was a product of the Arizona Folklore Preserve, recorded in Dolan's home adjacent to the AFP property. Dolan's epic song, Geronimo (The Life of Geronimo), resulted from a class he took at Cochise College, writing a verse each week and surprising the instructor and students wth the completed song at the completion of the class. A more powerful and dramatic song about any subject is hard to find, and Dolan shows his understanding of what drove the warrior to fight to try to preserve his way of life. The Bombing of Naco is based in Cochise County, about 20 miles from the AFP near Bisbee, Arizona, where the towns of Naco, Arizona, and Naco, Sonora (Mexico) share a border. It's the true story of a barnstormer who, in 1929, decided to help the Sonoran rebels in their fight against the Federales. Luckily, no real harm was done and the story is actually funny, especially as Dolan Ellis reenacts it in his song. There are seven other original tracks on the CD, all of them outstanding, all of them telling wonderful stories that make them great for active listening vs. background music. This CD is perfect ...
