| | Stygian Struggle CD Stygian Discography of CDs
Stygian started back in 1999 when Frank, Steve, and Mike came together in middle school. The first goal was to learn as many Metallica songs as possible because Metallica was and still is their favorite band. After about two years of covering Metallica and giving their friends a good show, they bunkered down and began to write original music. Unlike many bands who quickly start playing live, Stygian refined their skills and did not play live until the beginning of 2003. After Stygian has been part of shows all over the Philadelphia area. There have been several other guitar players that have entered and exited the band until finally Ed Sobon joined in the fall of 2003. It was at this time that Stygian had gotten the final piece they needed as they were now developing a diversified and unique sound. With more and more live shows came more and more experience for the group and people were starting to take notice. 2004 was not an easy year for Stygian after having some difficulties with the direction the band was headed and what the roles of the members should be. They took the time however to get it right. Frank Leary emerged as the groups lead singer, allowing Mike to do what he does best by playing great bass and truly being a spectacle on stage. Ed also took some personal time to get things straighted out. This brings us to now where Stygian is as strong as it ever has been and they are set to release their debut album "Struggle" on November 3rd when they will headline the historic Trocadero Theater in Philadelphia. This is one more step in the right direction and Stygian will not stop working as hard as possible until they are signed and out there on the road playing for all their fans around the world! | | Ray Brown Some Of My Best Friends Are...The Sax Players CD (1996)
Struggle music CDs
$8.79 As a follow-up to bassist Ray Brown's previous record in which he collaborated with several of his favorite pianists, Some of My Best Friends Are...The Sax Players features six major saxophonists (tenors Joe Lovano, Ralph Moore, Joshua Redman and Stanley Turrentine plus altoists Benny Carter and Jesse Davis) on two songs apiece with his regular trio. Although more than 60 years separate the ageless Carter from Redman, each of the saxes originally developed their own voice in the straight-ahead jazz tradition. Highlights of the colorful set include Benny Carter's playful rendition of "Love Walked In," Moore's cooking solo on "Crazeology" (a Benny Harris bop classic which the record mistakenly lists as written by Bud ...

| | Juniper Lane Wake From Yourself CD (2007)
Struggle CD music
$16.45 Critics agreed that the phrase "on the verge" was never more poignant than when listening to a track from Juniper Lane's Sirens From a Mile Back. In a tragic twist of fate, less than a year after Sirens was released to rave reviews and fan acclaim, singer Vivion Smith was involved in a nearly fatal rock-climbing accident. Juniper Lane's career came to a sudden halt despite the press attention, industry interest, and commercial radio spins Sirens was commanding. After spending a week in a coma, Smith left the hospital to begin the arduous tasks of regaining her memory, rehabilitating her pianist hand, and rebuilding her life. A year later, Juniper Lane reconnected to explore the possibility of their own recovery and found that the drive and dynamic they once possessed was unchanged. It soon became apparent that instead of picking up where they left off, Juniper Lane was back as an even more inspired and motivated version of themselves.Juniper Lane has mastered that which eludes so many musical acts: the ability to produce a diverse range of well-crafted songs while putting forth an unmistakably signature sound. With the recent national commercial success of bands that straddle the line between indie and mainstream rock (Death Cab for Cutie, Snow Patrol), it seems the music industry has finally caught up to Juniper ...
